link what to Trump Jr.? Also making false statements in his congressional testimony?

pretty vague.
The Trump Russia Tower via Cohen.

This guy has admitted when he was wrong. He's not too unreasonable and one of the few that tries to predict.

well, we'll see how it goes... but, I don't imagine Cohen will be able to say too much about Trump Tower Moscow.

It's kinda at the heart of the Mueller investigation.

I'm sure it came up in the many hours Cohen spent with Mueller, though. :D

Mueller got himself Roger Stone...

https://www.justice.gov/file/1124706/download
The indictment's wording does not say who on the campaign knew about Stone's quest, but makes clear it was multiple people. This is the first time prosecutors have alleged they know of additional people close to the President who worked with Stone as he sought out WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

I won't pretend to understand an FBI investigation, but if I took an educated guess, Stone is the piece that ties Russia and Trump together through WikiLeaks. I think there will be a series of indictments and arrests in the coming weeks that help tie the noose tighter. :twocents:

You also have to remember this is Mueller's orders:
APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL COUNSEL TO INVESTIGATE RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE WITH THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND RELATED MATTERS

1. any links and/or coordination bet ween the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and

2. any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and

3. any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a).
https://www.justice.gov/opa/press-relea ... 1/download

Trumpers conveniently forget it's part of the original order.

The slow drip is awesome.

The Trump holdouts can continue to say "nothingburger" but this is turning into a "somethingburger" and it's a real joy to watch as it develops.

Collusion isn't a crime so I doubt you'll see that charge. Probably something closer to obstruction or a conspiracy related crime. :coffee:

Former White House chief strategist and Trump campaign CEO Steve Bannon is the “high-ranking Trump campaign official” in special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment of Roger Stone, CNBC has learned.

Bannon, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter, is the Trump campaign official who in October 2016 reached out to Stone “about the status of future releases by Organization 1,” which clearly clearly refers to WikiLeaks and Julian Assange.

From the indictment:
After the July 22, 2016 release of stolen DNC emails by Organization 1, a senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact STONE about any additional releases and what other damaging information Organization 1 had regarding the Clinton Campaign.
How many people in the campaign would've had the authority to direct a senior Trump official (likely Bannon) after they knew the emails were stolen? Mueller is closing in...

Skeletor! I always knew he'd circle back around.

It didn't seem to make sense that they got rid of him so quickly when he was such a confidant, but now it's making a bit more sense.

I bet Bannon read the writing on the wall early and has been working closely with Mueller. It's probably why you rarely hear his name come up. Bannon may be a villain, but he's politically savvy and doesn't want to go down with the caliber of losers Trump's surrounded himself with.

Either that or he's as stupid as the rest of them. Either way works for me.

True story. The guide on my Chicago River cruise last summer was named Teela. She explained that her parents were pothead Gen X'ers who were religious fans of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. So much so that they named their daughter Teela.

She was awesome, btw.

93: You might want to reconsider your LP registration and just go unaffiliated. Reason and the LP establishment (such as it is) are using the shutdown as a basis to advocate shrinking the federal government going forward. The key question for them, using TSA among others as examples, is what guvmint services are really “essential.” That said, they say the shutdown isn’t the right way to go about it.

The right way to achieve smaller government is not a shutdown, but to make politically difficult decisions like closing entire government departments, decreasing the regulatory burden, or simple attrition/hiring freezes. But given the invertebrate nature of politicians, that’s not bloody likely.

Just saw that I posted this on the wrong thread. :ohno: Shit. But it’s out there, FWIW.
