Deep Texas roots. Good background on the offensive side anyway. He was offensive coordinator at Eastern Illinois when QB Jimmy Garoppolo won the Payton Award in 2013 and the Panthers led FCS in total offense with 589.5 yards per game and an scoring offense with 48.2 points per game.
We'll see what happens. I was prepared to be disappointed but I'm not. I'm really interested in seeing what happens. I really like his deep background in Texas High School football. I'm guessing he's got a lot of connections and relationships.
