It's a battle of red teams on the red turf! Woooo! Anyway, this EWU team is a little different than the gunslinging squads of past playoffs because their running game and its gaudy 7.1 yards-per-carry is their biggest strength. Nicholls has a strong running game themselves, as well as really good run D, so they've got a shot at an upset. I doubt they'll get it, though, because Eastern's at home and their now starting QB Eric Barriere has shown he can complete some passes when needed.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
Quarterbacks -- (push)
Running Backs - EWU
Receivers/TEs - EWU
Offensive Line - EWU
Defensive Line - Nicholls St.
Linebackers --- Nicholls St.
Secondary ---- EWU
Kicking ------ EWU*
Punting ------ EWU
Return Teams - EWU
Kickoffs ------ EWU
Nicholls St. 20-34 EWU
* - Assuming Alcobendas plays; he's listed as questionable.
Also, what the fuck is Nicholls? Is that a four-year school?
I mean, we have Kalm and Gil Dobie trying to tell me that FCS is better than ever, and there are schools called Nicholls and Lamar in the playoffs. Kind of blows up their arguments pretty quickly, no?

Fake News!
We are saying it's not down.
It's clearly down, by every measure, except for NDSU of course.

Are these schools up or down?
SDSU
EWU
Weber St
UCD
Delaware
Richmond
UNH
JMU
School by school discussions are meaningless. My thread title was asking if FCS is really this bad. Everything I see with my eyes and every stat I read points to yes. 2018 is a historically bad year for FCS, beside NDSU.
Don't get butthurt. I am not saying NDSU is not a worthy champion. What they've done is amazing.

You are saying SDSU, EWU and Weber St aren't as good as other teams. SDSU is every bit as good as the 2012 GSU team we beat in the Semi's. As I said in another thread, the SoGon hasn't had a team in the finals since App St in 2007. Delaware played Colgate in the 2003 championship game. This years Colgate is very underrated.
