A lot of public schools are teaching very young children that gender is a choice and causing some children to question their own gender. There are even extreme cases of children undergoing gender reassignment procedures because schools and their parents have completely fucked them up.

This is why the government needs to define gender and make it clear that there are only two genders. It would also serve to reinforce the reality that gender dysphoria is a real and serious mental illness.

The real issue here is not government overreach. The issue is society going off the rails by normalizing mental illness.

So what should we be doing instead? Reeducation camps? Shock therapy?

Some on the fringe are actually advocating making refusal to use the pronoun of choice a crime. You can already be banned on Twitter for claiming there are only two genders. In Canada, you can be prosecuted in some locations if you refuse to use the pronoun of choice. People have actually lost their jobs for refusing to acknowledge the fluidity of gender or failing to use the pronoun of choice.

Aside from the extreme and rare outlier, males, boys, men, hes have one X and one Y chromosome while females, girls, women, shes have two X chromosomes. That is basic biology...true and undeniable science. There are no amount of drugs, surgery, wishing on a star, praying over pixie dust farted out of a unicorn ass that will change that basic law of science.

I see your point. I think what I'm trying to say is that is isn't the role of our government to choose. Human biology has determined who is male and female. For 200k years (modern humans), the world has accepted the fact that if you have a penis, you're a man. Then we made the law that says you can't be discriminated just because you have a penis. I'm open to science adjusting what we think and know about something...but so far it doesn't seem like anything is conclusive.

Side note - humans have existed roughly 200k years and we're now talking about " Well, I may look, talk, piss, make love and act like a lady but deep down inside...i'm all man." Interesting.

Yes, it's actually quite insane that we're even having this discussion IMO. If you want to dress like the opposite sex, knock yourself out. But to grant somebody protection under anti-discrimination laws because today they feel like X is just stupid. If you grant that, they I should be allowed to apply for minority grants because today I feel Hispanic.

Of course...with a huge assist from drugs. I have two in-laws diagnosed with it, another in-law who is bi-polar and my most trusted employee and friend who is bi-polar. The one's that have owned it thrive and society understanding the condition relieves their issues to a certain extent.
