And if that is the view you are taking then the 2nd Ammendment is on deck.Pwns wrote:If we're going to view the constitution as a living, breathing document that needs to keep up with the times, we need to acknowledge birthright citizenship makes no sense in a time when oceans can be crossed in hours and not months.
That's a slippery slope. I'm not sure what the duration of a trip has to do with the law.Pwns wrote:If we're going to view the constitution as a living, breathing document that needs to keep up with the times, we need to acknowledge birthright citizenship makes no sense in a time when oceans can be crossed in hours and not months.

This ^ attitude is the single most dangerous attitude any citizen can have about that document...Pwns wrote:If we're going to view the constitution as a living, breathing document that needs to keep up with the times, we need to acknowledge birthright citizenship makes no sense in a time when oceans can be crossed in hours and not months.

You won't like the outcomes further down the line

Originalism means getting rid of the majority of federal government agencies (including those that actually are useful). Infinite constitutional malleability means the feds can do whatever the hell they want. Pick your poision. It's probably well past time to re-write the thing, but that might just make things worse and if passing a budget is an ordeal getting a new constitution is impossible.Chizzang wrote:This ^ attitude is the single most dangerous attitude any citizen can have about that document...Pwns wrote:If we're going to view the constitution as a living, breathing document that needs to keep up with the times, we need to acknowledge birthright citizenship makes no sense in a time when oceans can be crossed in hours and not months.

Hes not doing one **** thing Obama didnt do.
Do whatever you want with the 2nd amendment, I dont care because I will never follow any of the gun laws. In fact walking around the town I am in right now I am breaking several by my concealed carry.

I obey laws. It's not my job.ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:Said every pussy left winger in America..................mainejeff wrote:

That's a fact. You're an idiot for a completely different reason.93henfan wrote:I support him and I'm not an idiot. The alternative was far worse.JohnStOnge wrote:
