Re: Trump announces Brett Kavanaugh as his 2nd SCOTUS nominee.
This morning I listened to some mainstream media show that was talking on this second alligation of the Yale grad who claimed she had a "penis in her face" which belonged to Brett, while she was intoxicated, but not so badly that she blacked out of course.
They pointed out that 4 people interviewed from THAT party denied it happened. This seems to be a problem with these alligations, the witnesses are not saying I don't remember, they are saying it didn't happen?

I read that New Yorker article. No doubt the specific allegations of the act described are questionable.
But there's a lot more in that story. Kavanaugh's crowd was a bunch of black-out drunks who treated women badly. He's done, I think, even if you say he didn't do what was specifically described.

Re: Trump announces Brett Kavanaugh as his 2nd SCOTUS nominee.
Why not say something in 1983?
Why not say something when Brett’s name came up as a potential candidate this Spring?
Why not speak up when he was nominated?
Why not speak up when the hearings began?
Why not speak up when the first accusation came out?
I understand the fear, but this is the #MeToo era. Every allegation should be taken seriously. But, all of this at the 11th hour is suspect and reeks of partisan obfuscation.

Besides the potential sexual assault, this is another thing it boils down to.JoltinJoe wrote:I read that New Yorker article. No doubt the specific allegations of the act described are questionable.

Re: Trump announces Brett Kavanaugh as his 2nd SCOTUS nominee.
But if the sexual assault angle doesn't stick, how are they going to disqualify him based on drinking heavily as a high school and potentially college student, especially if, in the 30+ years since then he's done nothing of the sort? Without the sexual assault, it comes down to saying no because he drank heavily as a kid - that's not going to do it in terms of getting enough votes to turn him down. If he continued any of this behavior into his adult life (again, assuming that the sexual assault doesn't stick) then that's one thing. You think we would've heard of that by now.∞∞∞ wrote:Besides the potential sexual assault, this is another thing it boils down to.JoltinJoe wrote:I read that New Yorker article. To be fair, Kavanaugh wreaks of a system that allows the social and governing elite to maintain their status through generations. I've seen it first-hand growing up in McLean; and places like Georgetown Prep (and even the Ivy League's) shield the fact that these institutions aren't shaping the finest men and women, but simply allowing the status quo to be maintained through the mirage of an "elite" education.Pwns wrote:Did you get that argle bargle about "entitled white males" from Jezebel or Salon?mainejeff wrote:

And so untrue of course.
Btw, that platform failed in 2016. Badly.

Absolutely. Did you get this upset when Elena Kagan was up for the court? She comes from the same kind of background that you seem to despise, yet you seemed quiet on her.∞∞∞ wrote:To be fair, Kavanaugh wreaks of a system that allows the social and governing elite to maintain their status through generations. Someone like 93 votes using spite, and even liberals like Chizzy/Ibanez think #metoo and BLM are stupid movements. I wonder what most of the people on this forum have in common.

No you didn't. You only call them out on it, though. Like I said, are you anti-Kagan because of her background too?∞∞∞ wrote:Did I say Conservatives are the only ones that use the system to benefit themselves?GannonFan wrote:

According to your post, independents, liberals, and conservatives coming together "to some degree" over the suspicious political motives of metoo and blm shows you to be a full blown political hack with no independent thoughts?∞∞∞ wrote:As you can tell by what's happening in America, there's no payback.AZGrizFan wrote:

Of course they're political movements; they're attempting to improve the lives of black people and women through political and social activism.
The fact that you think the movemements make someone a political hack just makes me double-down on how important they are.

No they're not. They attempting to destroy anyone and anything that doesn't look, act, and think just like they do. THAT, my friend, is fascism.∞∞∞ wrote:Of course they're political movements; they're attempting to improve the lives of black people and women through political and social activism.

But yeah, I'm sorry that they call out people who sexually assault women and kill black people. Damn fascists raising awareness and wanting laws changed. How dare they tell you that rape and murder is wrong!
