I would say that of the two it's more likely to be a stalling tactic. They already have him perjuring himself on paper so he's probably lying about this incident too - which is the real issue.

So are you placing the blame on Diane Feinstein and the Democrats for this mess? She knew about this for how long and said nothing. It was Democrats that leaked this at the last moment for political reasons and forced Ford into being outed. Grassley says in one of his letters that he still wouldn't know who it was if it wasn't for Ford admitting it in a Wash Post article after this was leaked. Ford would have been better off approaching Grassley. Many view him as a partisan hack but his reputation for protecting whistleblowers is pretty good.

This is what happens when a nomination is rushed, documents are secretly held back, and not enough information is given to properly vet a candidate.

I'm still amazed the GOP doesn't simply find a different candidate.

What does Kavanaugh bring which any other conservative judge wouldn't? Why fall on the stake here? No one gives a damn about any moral stand the GOP is making. Young women and men see this (among other GOP actions) and see a party completely out-of-step with them regarding social issues.

Yeah next time just nominate someone like Kagan, with little judicial experience, so there's little paper
