That's all fine and good, JSO

And 93 and I have already pointed out to different degrees that polygraph tests are unreliable... so you're preaching to the choir

But stand by over the next week or so

You are going to see a wide swath of people (curiously all Democrats) defend polygraph testing as reliable as an atomic clock

SO Feinstein doesn't have confidence in the accusation...or she is getting even more senile.

Interesting tid bit: Feinstein is getting hammered here in CA for not doing enough to stop Trump's agenda and it's showing in the polls.

So much entertainment.

If Ford doesn't show for the hearing, then move on and hold the vote. No need to delay further. donks calling for an FBI investigation is pretty comical as well...seeing as no federal law was broken with the accusation and they already said they won't investigate.

So even DF won't #standwithford.

As someone who once strongly identified as a Democrat, I have to say that the leaders of the Democratic party don't seem to understand this politics thing. This smear job has pretty much given cover to Collins and Murkowski to vote Kavanuagh through.

These things may play to their ever-shrinking base, but they drive moderates away, never to return.

Because a bunch of internet tough guy trolls make threats? Please. To quote Phil Hartman.. I've got chunks of people like that in my stool.

So let's be clear... I don't think I would be putting my family in jeopardy by testifying in a way that would negatively impact a SCOTUS nominee, regardless of the circumstances.

I also think that people over-blow these threats, on both sides. Whatever they say she's getting, divide it by 20 and tone them all down a bit and that's the truth. We are all a bunch of gasping petunias and need to grow the fvck up.

And again, she's an adult and knows that you can't play passive aggressive when it comes to accusing people of criminal activity. That's how it works. If she isn't willing to follow through then she should never have come forward in the first place.

And I'm someone who thinks she might be credible. But I have little sympathy for people who drop turds like this and then wither away. Be an adult and back your sh!t up.

The FBI doesn’t have any jurisdiction here... at all. I don’t know why the. Dems are pushing this tack right now.. they must think everyone is stupid

Her handlers arranged a polygraph a month ago and yet she’s still not ready to give her side of the story? Call me unimpressed

Does this thing remind anyone else of the Duke lacrosse story? BTW, didn't one of the Dem senators refer to Brett as a frat boy? Now I'm thinking that may not have been by accident. Libs are choosing to ignore history on this one. They will come off looking like idiots once again if they keep pushing this.

It's just more femagoguery.

We'll get a bunch of "how do I explain to my daughter how Brett Kavanaugh got on the Supreme court" histrionics and that will be followed up by the October campaign crunch with messages about Republicans banning birth control and a few mentions of a War on Wimmin™ for good measure.

And the Hillary Clintons and Kirsten Gillibrands and Kamala Harris' will hail grrl power that helped Dems regain ground in the House even though they regained ground in spite of it and not because of it.

The threats, backlash, and general hatred is why she didn't come forward in the 80s. It's why she didn't come forward when Kavanaugh worked in the Bush administration. And it's why she was reluctant to come forward now, even in the #MeToo era. That said, she mentioned Kavanaugh by name in private as early as 2012 and contacted Feinstein* before Kavanaugh was selected when his name popped up as a finalist.

Regardless, this is something wealthy old men like Hatch and Grassley, among others, simply don't desire to understand. It's the system they grew up in - the future and career of a man will always take precedence over and supersede the experience of any woman they victimized. And it's why the GOP is hurting with women, especially new voters. They act like this is the 80s when it's 2018.

Ford is a professor with a bit of published work; she's respected in her field and is a professional by any standard. I'm pretty sure this isn't what she wants to be famous for: being sexually assaulted. She isn't a 20-something vagabond paid by Project Veritas; she has nothing to gain and quite a bit to lose here.

*Feinstein completely mishandled this entire thing for political points.

On the contrary, we've been told time and time again, mostly by the left in this case, that this nomination is perhaps the defining moment in our country, the very notion of democracy is in the balance, the freedom of all women is at stake with this one nomination, and that this will dictate the course of not only America, but perhaps the world, for the next 40-50 years. Heck, Obama doubled down on his "end of the Republic" soundbite that he used in 2016 to describe this nomination. That sounds like plenty to gain. It's almost her patriotic duty to do this.

She may be telling the truth. She may think she's telling the truth. Or she could be lying. It's really one of those three. I saw a study out there than only about 10% of women actually lie in sexual assault cases, which is a pretty low number. Unless, that is, your the 10% of men who are unfairly accused of sexual assault. Unfortunately, with the lack of evidence or an admission by Kavanaugh, there's going to need to be more. Other folks who have fallen in the #MeToo tide have been typically because of more than one accuser with a similar story, or at least a pattern of misbehavior. Right now, it's one woman, while both were minors, one time, 36 years ago. There's a reason why this doesn't see a courtroom but is only in the political arena - it needs more evidence.

Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist, but the speed in which the document was prepared is astonishing. I mean it's theoretically possible with social media, but I think they have something which speaks badly to Kavanaugh's character (relating to women, but possibly unrelated to this) which isn't public. And they had this prepared in case whatever the thing is was dug up by someone.

Dude, apparently everyone in Washington knew that there was a letter for the past two months, and that it was something like this. Both sides knew it - the Dems were hemming and hawing about the best way to spring it and the GOP was playing defense not knowing when it was going to happen. This is politics.

Oh, and most of these folks are lawyers - I'm sure they have contingencies filed away for whatever might happen. This isn't like they're applying for a permit to put a shed in the backyard, they're debating a SCOTUS nominee. Pretty big stakes not to be prepared ahead of time.

If every teenage boy who had a couple too many drinks and tried to make a move on a female schoolmate at a party had to resign their job today, the US unemployment rate would be about 52%.

And I don’t even believe any sexual assault ever occurred in this instance. This blue operation is so poorly hatched it’s laughable. It probably will influence some low information blue voters though, so Feinstein isn’t completely stupid.

I'll disagree on that, and unfortunately, it's that kind of comment (and maybe even those kinds of actions) that have placed us where we are today. If this was true, it's not just "making a move on a female schoolmate" - asking a girl our or asking to dance during a slow song is a pretty big step away from holding her down on the bed, covering her mouth, and trying to take her clothes off against her will. That's not making a move, that is an attack. Beer or no beer. I've never done that, nor even done anything close to that. I'm raising 3 boys, and I make sure it's clear every day that they are never, ever, to do anything like that to a girl. Boys don't have to attack girls, and you can raise them not to do that. I wouldn't disqualify Kavanaugh on this because I don't think there is sufficient evidence to feel certain, or close to certain, that he did this. But that doesn't mean laughing off an attack by a teenage boy on a teenage girl, by him or anyone else, is acceptable. We should be better than this.

This is what happens when a nomination is rushed, documents are secretly held back, and not enough information is given to properly vet a candidate.

I'm still amazed the GOP doesn't simply find a different candidate.

What does Kavanaugh bring which any other conservative judge wouldn't? Why fall on the stake here? No one gives a damn about any moral stand the GOP is making. Young women and men see this (among other GOP actions) and see a party completely out-of-step with them regarding social issues.

Stop with the rushed crap - this is actually one of the longer nominations relative to recent ones. There's nothing really rushed about this one. As for the documents, what do we not know about this guy? He's written more crap than probably any of the past nominated justices combined - his views and opinions couldn't be any clearer - it's not like this guy is a closed book, everyone knows exactly who they would be voting for or against. You're starting to sound like a political soundbite - don't be afraid to think for yourself from time to time.

I was pulling for Thomas to get on the Court. Also, I think it's bad to establish a precedent whereby one person loses out on a job because one other person accuses him/her of something and it's a "my word vs. their word" situation. But I don't think there's any affirmative evidence that Anita Hill lied.
