Re: Trump announces Brett Kavanaugh as his 2nd SCOTUS nominee.
Feinstein mishandled this, and I have no doubt it was intentionally held until the 11th hour.
But that's politics
Either way, this needs to be looked at by the Judiciary Committee.

She got pictures? A rape kit? Or is this just her word against his? Please explain to me how they’re going to “investigate” this 27 years later?∞∞∞ wrote:There's a sexual assault accusation - bordering on attempted rape - which this lady first mentioned in 2012 to a counselor. 2018 is a lot different than 1991; we live in the #MeToo era and there's no escaping past actions anymore. A lifetime appointment to the highest court should be investigated and vetted thoroughly (and this is ignoring all the documents the White House refuses to make available).
Also Maryland doesn't have statutes of limitations; if more evidence comes out, there is a real possibility Kavanaugh can be arrested. MD is a liberal stronghold, so they'd have no issues doing it.
My personal guess: Kavanaugh withdraws or his nomination fails.

Of course her position as a professor at a college in Palo Alto lend credence that she is likely a liberal and voted for Clinton. This is probably as big a sham as Anita Hill was..

So donks want FBI to investigate, but FBI said no. So where exactly does that leave this?

If I had to bet I'd bet it happened. The biggest thing, to me, is whether we are going to hold adults responsible for what they did as teenagers. The guy is 53 years old now.css75 wrote:Funny how this comes out at the last minute. Looks bogus to me.

The idea that a teenaged guy got drunk and groped all over a teenaged girl is not really that hard to believe. But we that are guys have all been teen aged guys and you have to ask yourself if having to done something like that when one is a teenager should be disqualifying for everything for life.
Of course we do have the thing where if it DID happen it means Kavanaugh lied when he denied it. That is a separate issue in a way. Of course if he said "yeah I did it" that would be curtains for him.

Her story, what I know about it, has some very credible parts. When I was a cop, this was the kind of detail in a story that would have merited a more careful look.
But ultimately there are just a couple things to consider here...
This only ends in a pure he said - she said scenario. It will come down to that, and the Dems will choose to believe her and the Reps will choose to believe him. At that point, whether to continue with Kavanaugh will be a political decision for the GOP.
The other thing to consider, which JSO touched on, is does it matter what he did as a teenager? Surely there will be plenty of people who say it does, but are they a quorum?

She was a 15 year old kid drinking beer at a party, and doesn't remember anything else about that night.
She doesn't even remember the house, how she heard about the party, how she got there, how she left, how she got home. The two people she remembers who were there, have avoided any contact by her.
She's a Donk who has donated to Donk candidates, and her lawyer is a big time ResistNut who defended Al Franken and Bill Clinton.

This doesn't have anything to do with what happened at a party 30 years ago and everything to do with payback for Merrick Garland not receiving a hearing. If the Ds can stall until after the election, payback will be a bitch, especially if the Rs lose the Senate too, which they now have about an even chance of doing. Not to mention Baldy's head exploding when I'm right yet again. And well well well, as we speak it looks like none other than Jeff Flake is thinking that this needs looking into....so long Brett...we hardly knew ye..CID1990 wrote:Her story, what I know about it, has some very credible parts. I don't think that Feinstein fooled anybody given that within minutes of her speaking a list of 65 women he attended high school with vouching for him was produced by the GOP.CID1990 wrote:Feinstein mishandled this, and I have no doubt it was intentionally held until the 11th hour.

The woman will now testify in front of the committee. In the end the only way this is bad for the GOP is if they'd have to pick a new nominee AND lose control of the Senate in November.

Both have a strong probability of happening - the fact that Cruz's seat is even in play let alone in a statistical dead heat is a strong indicator of the Blue Tsunami that approaches.bluehenbillk wrote:The woman will now testify in front of the committee. There's more of a chance of the Senate going more strongly in the GOP's direction than it is the GOP losing the Senate. The GOP will lose the House, I think there's little doubt about that, but if this nomination drags over into the general election that could even end up in doubt because now you'd have a reason for GOP voters to come out en masse. But regardless, the very likeliehood is that the House goes narrowly to the Dems and the GOP holds the same majority, or more, in the Senate.houndawg wrote:Both have a strong probability of happening - the fact that Boobs's seat is even in play let alone in a statistical dead heat is a strong indicator of the Blue Tsunami that approaches.bluehenbillk wrote:The woman will now testify in front of the committee. Re: Trump announces Brett Kavanaugh as his 2nd SCOTUS nominee.
This thing is going to get ugly. Unless there are any other accusers, you have the word of a respected professor, albeit one who has contributed financially to Democratic candidates and causes, vaguely remembering an event that happened maybe 36 years ago (she's not sure of the year, so it's more details that are vague other than who was in the house) when she was drinking and he was drinking, when they were minors, and something that she only started talking about when he was on a short list of GOP SCOTUS nominees. And the accused is saying he didn't do it. There's no good outcome in this - either he did it and probably should be removed from consideration, or he didn't do it and he's being falsely accused, possibly for political gain. And on top of it, rather than happening in a court of law, we're going to have the spectacle of Senators grilling both her and him in public hearings that will be an absolute circus, as politics have gotten to be. This already is going to be Anita Hill part 2, although with even less evidence. Our politics continues to be an absolute disaster, and it's only getting worse.

Fake news? Or true? Because, if true.....wow.Martha G. Kavanaugh, the mother of Brett Kavanaugh was a Maryland district judge in 1996. In an amazing coincidence, Martha Kavanaugh was the judge in a foreclosure case in which Christine Blasey-Ford’s parents were the defendants. Now it all becomes clear. Blasey-Ford is going after Brett Kavanaugh, not because of what he did in high school. Instead, Christine Blasey-Ford is going after Brett Kavanaugh out of spite and revenge for a case rulled on by Brett Kavanaugh mother. Martha Kavanaugh, Brett’s mother was Montgomery County Circuit Court judge from 1993 until she retired in 2001. During a 1996 foreclosure case, Martha Kavanaugh ruled against the parents of Christine Blasey-Ford in a foreclosure case.
The foreclosure case against Paula K. Blasey and Ralph G. Blasey was opened on August 8, 1996. The case number is 156006V.
