At what point can Trump get nailed for breaking the campaign finance laws with regard to Stormy Daniels? This seems like and easy "if - then" scenario but not sure if it is from a legal standpoint. Wouldn't it be hard to prove that it was to protect the "campaign"? Couldn't Trump just say it was to protect his marriage? Or to protect someone else, like a person who set up the encounter? Unless they have Trump on tape saying it was to protect the campaign, it seems like he could wiggle out of this.

I think that Strzok's dismissal was indeed politically motivated. I think I understand why the FBI had to do it. But I think the political atmosphere precipitated the action to override the decision of the internal body.

And as far as actions go: One of the findings of the IG's report was that there was no indication in what Strzok actually DID that bias impacted what he did professionally. In this case the FBI actually DID something to suggest there were political considerations.

I'm not saying political considerations weren't reasonable in this case. But it'd be hard to argue that there weren't political considerations.

If Stzrzcwcx's texts had been about a RICO case involving some gangster, he'd have been on the hook for two things - 1) the defense attorney would be able to impeach any criminal case, and b) his security clearance would be jeopardized by his affair with the "dont go loaded for bear" lawyer gal.

The FBI bureaucracy would have fired him much more quickly than it actually happened here... precisely because of the perception of political motivation that exists in this case

None, but I'm a far-left liberal so my views aren't typical of the average Dem; I'm not the type of voter the GOP should try to woo. But more moderate ones could have easily voted for Kasich or Bush.

It took so long because the FBI's Office of Personal Responsibility (Candace Will) that is in charge of dolling out penalties was a Mueller appointee. Probably a hillary supporter to boot.

I think his apparent bias against Trump were obvious by his text messages, regardless of what some independent party says. I think the perception that someone with such a documented bias maintain a role in the FBI as an investigator will poison the well. CID is right, 100%.

You know what? I’ll expand on this a little bit.

This is what I don’t like about some of those preening motherfvckers at the upper levels of the FBI and a number of the other Federal agencies. They go to Glencoe and then their own academies and they get told they are the cream of the crop and they take that sh1t to heart. They sh1t all over local LE in the task forces (guys that are ten times the cops they are) and they have unearned 50 lb chips on their shoulders.

There are some great, stellar agents at the FBI (I know, because I trained them as cops and then encouraged them to go there)... but there is a very large cabal in the upper middle to top leadership that are leftover cocksuckers from the days when Jimmeh Carter’s crowd thought it was a good idea to load them up with UVA educated lawyers and Yankee accountants to go after the RICO cases (instead of street cops). They have colossal poor judgment, and they think the norms and rules of integrity in LE don’t apply to them. The Waco and Ruby Ridge “missteps” were brought to us when these guys were SACs.

Strowicz is the scion of those assholes who are mostly (thankfully) retired now, but their protégés are still there. And they got to the top by sucking ass and basically writing memos (and now texts). I haven’t looked at his record, but I will guarantee he doesn’t have single big case multiple conviction to his name. I guarantee he doesn’t. Because he’s a bureaucratic cunt, not a cop. And he has poor judgment. Go figure.

90% of the FBI people who know him hate his fvcking guts. Ask me how I know.

Until we hear something that really gets to Trump colluding with the Russians, it's not the thing people are looking for. Manafort avoiding taxes when working as a foreign agent in the Ukraine 10 years ago? Cohen not paying taxes on his taxicab empire? Those are crimes, for sure, but far short of working with the Russians to rig the 2016 election. This was supposed to be about bigger fish.

Maybe they're saving that for his next trial next month?
