Will's right - and he's going to get his wish - the Manafort trials are going to do two things

highlight the fact the business with Russia is almost always dirty business -

(everyone should know that but apparently it is a revelation for some)

Poison the well on any relationship of any kind with Russia - like Truman with Ho Chi Minh... it will become politically toxic for any politician to suggest normalization with Russia for a very long time to come

I finally saw someone in the TV media Trump hates so much push back on Trump's claim that he's been tougher on Russia than anybody today. It was some MSNBC hosts. I've been shaking my head as I've been watching him get away with that claim when it's obvious to everyone that Congress forced his hand on sanctions and he still managed to drag his feet on that for over a year. At the very least, any time some Republican/Conservative hack like Matt Schlapp makes that "Trump is tougher on Russia" talking point, someone ought to advise the audience to Google "Fact Check Trump is tougher on Russia."

Of course the hard core Trump Invasion of the Body Snatchers zombies will say that it's all fake news fact checking and such. But at least throw that out there so that people who still think clearly can look at the information.

Thats a big if, but IF we undercut Russia on gas exports to the EU, that would be tougher than we've been on Russia in a very long time.

You're an insider, very knowledgeable, and a natural skeptic so it's easier for you than some to brush corruption aside as a "conflict of interest". Sounds nicer and might not even be illegal. None of this is an insult btw so don't get your panties in a wad.

The original Greek cynics held virtue in high regard. There are still some of those around who coupled with the "shining city on the hill" nostalgia crowd makes it much more difficult to not connect the dots and/or accept the ways of the world. (And yes, but Hillary/both sides do it.
