So it's an Elliot Rodger copycat. Time to bring out the broad brush of men are taught ta hate wimmin instead of the thin brush of "not all muslims".

I really worry about people who never experienced the world before the internet.

Look at the fucking guy. If he wasn’t buried in Reddit or whatever the fuck, he could get laid pretty easily. He appears not to have crossed eyes or missing teeth. Maybe try getting out of mommas’s basement and talking nicely to a woman. I was just in Toronto last summer on vacation. That place is multicultural as hell. More so than DC from what I could see. There’s a Stacy for every Chad up there if you don’t have a sociological disorder from living through the Internet.

Sounds like a certain generation needs to ditch the shitty, overproduced DJ music and invent the next grunge or punk rock. Guitars and (real) drums are therapeutic. Works out all the angst.

I’m telling you, man. We are seeing the manifestation of a generation raised with a device in their hand practically since birth. Socialization is a challenge when you don’t socialize. Sure, there have been recluses throughout history who went nuts and wacked some people, but we’re now facing an entire generation babysat by screens.

Also, I walked to school three miles to school in the rain and four miles back in snow most days. We had it rough and we liked it!

Yet one possible explanation has emerged online that suggests Minassian was angry over being rebuffed by women.

An apparent Facebook post by a man with the same name and photo as Minassian's LinkedIn profile refers to the "Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger," a 22-year-old responsible for a deadly rampage in Isla Vista, Calif., that left six people dead and a dozen more injured.

In a video posted ahead of that 2014 attack, Rodger raged about a number of women turning down his advances, rendering him an "incel," or involuntarily celibate. Rodger referred to the men who always seemed to win with women as "Chads" and the women who turned men down as "Stacys."

UPDATEDDeadly van 'attack' not part of organized terror plot, says Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale
The apparent posting by Minassian says the "incel rebellion has already begun. We will overthrow all the Chads and the Stacys."

CBC News has not been able to independently verify the post as having been written by Minassian.

I don't know; the young people I speak to still socialize well in-person. If anything, they're probably more social than older people (including myself) who tend to be a little more solitary.

Anecdotally, I haven't seen issues among young family members, friends, students (when I taught), or coworkers' children that says they don't know how to switch from socializing online to socializing in-person.

Of course there's outliers, but I wouldn't say it's a generational problem.

edit: some of you have children; would you say your children have more of an issue socializing, or are your children just better than everyone else's? :thumb:
