FBI/DOJ goes to FISA court to wire tap Trump tower for collusion and is rejected the first time.

Hilldog pays Fusion GPS (who hires Steele) to develop the dossier...

*now here is where it gets good depending on which narrative you want to believe*

FBI/DOJ use dossier to get the FISA warrant to wire tap Trump tower for collusion on the 2nd try...they get it...

or

...or the FBI used 4th hand collusion info from an Australian diplomat (who heard it from Popodapolus (sp?) while drunk at a bar, who heard if from a guy in London, who heard it from a Russian) to get the FISA warrant....they get it...

And somewhere along the way the hillbots on Muellers team are getting exposed left and right for anti-Trump biased sentiment.

Meanwhile that Putin puppet also known as Trump has begun implementing a very pro-Russian agenda such as selling anti-tank weapons to Ukraine, opening more oil producing areas to become more energy self reliant, and increase the strength of the military via more funding that isn't needed...oh wait, those aren't pro-Russian at all....

This whole saga of FBI/DNC/political elite corruption is awesome. Can't wait for the house of cards to come tumbling down and the subsequent meltdown on the msm.

lol.....thank you Mr. Trump sir on behalf of Team Brown, would you like you shoes shined today...

Might want to reread some of your "bad historical analogies" lectures.

Sasse's (not Hillary-bot, imo) statement today:
Russia is just getting started and the hacks, forgeries, and influence campaigns are going to get more and more sophisticated. Moscow wants to undermine America’s trust in our institutions and Putin couldn’t be happier with Washington’s obsession with making everything about settling partisan scores instead of preparing for 2018 and 2020. Last year, FBI Director Comey said he was certain that Senate IT systems have been targeted and the Attorney General said we weren’t doing enough to prepare for Russia’s next attack. The Administration needs to take urgent action to ensure that our adversaries cannot undermine the framework of our political debates and the Attorney General should come back to Congress and explain what steps he’s taken since last year.

Oh no, we have to see if that Paladin guy who used to post on here has any room in his end-of-times bunker! Hacking, forgeries, and (gasp) influence campaigns!!!! The horror, the horror!!!

"Undermine the framework of our political debates"? Please, even you can't believe that. How about next time the GOP not run a buffoon like Trump and the Dem's not let perhaps the most corrupt politician of our time take control of the party machinery and put herself forward as the nominee? Russia didn't elect Trump, we did, all by ourselves, because government was/is broken and people knowingly looked the other way when Hillary and other politicians (and their partisan lapdogs) worried more about power than about doing good. "Moscow wants to undermine America's trust in our institutions" - hello, where have you been? We've been questioning that for the past two decades at least. Stop trying to prop up some bogeyman as a serious issue - it's a Scare, it's a way to deflect fixing what's really wrong with our government.

Uh. Sign me up. 2016 was the most depressing US election I hope I ever witness.
GannonFan wrote: Russia didn't elect Trump, we did, all by ourselves, because government was/is broken and people knowingly looked the other way when Hillary and other politicians (and their partisan lapdogs) worried more about power than about doing good.
I don't disagree here. There isn't any evidence that Russia's influence led to Trump's victory and if it wasn't for it... Hillary would have won. That would be impossible to prove and I've never claimed as much. Neither did Sasse.
GannonFan wrote:We've been questioning that for the past two decades at least. Stop trying to prop up some bogeyman as a serious issue - it's a Scare, it's a way to deflect fixing what's really wrong with our government.
Sorry, but a foreign government hacking both major political parties is a serious issue. No, we shouldn't be surprised that Russia did it. It's not earth shattering. But, is it a radical idea to acknowledge that it's a problem and try to figure out how to make sure it doesn't continue to happen?

That includes finding out if there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the hacking and troll armies.

It seems some in the campaign were aware of the hacks before the public or law enforcement. Why?

At least two people in the campaign were in contact with either Guccifer 2.0 or Wikileaks during the campaign. Why? Is it crazy to want it investigated?

Don Jr., Manafort, and Kushner went to a meeting with a Russian lawyer they believed to be sent from the Kremlin with damaging information on Hillary. They say nothing happened. Maybe you take their 3rd iteration of the story at face value. But, is it crazy to want to investigate that?

The Trump campaign manager is charged laundering Russian money. Did Russia use this as kompromat on him?

I don't blame Russia for doing what they did. They're looking out for their best interests and they're pretty good at it (at least the best interests of the ruling class). But, we should try to fix it. It's not a radical idea and it's certainly not a Red Scare.

As I've said before, if this is normalized - we'll just enter a new era of American politics where each party aligns with intelligence services of the countries that want them elected. If the 2020 election turns into the Five Eyes backing Oprah vs. GRU backing Trump... it will be even more depressing than 2016.

I don't think they're that powerful.

They've invested heavily in cyber and can attract (and/or force) their top programmers/hackers into service. Our best go to Silicon Valley to make $200k. Their best pay is with the Kremlin. Russia also forces hackers they arrest into service of the state. We're way behind on cyber, imo. Obama shares some responsibility for that.

Countries like Russia won't be able to outspend us on a conventional army. And, why bother? It's not worth an all-out-war with the US. They're better off investing in cyber warfare. It's cheaper and they can actually engage in it.

I really doubt any Fisa warrant was granted based only on the dossier. If that's true, I agree that it's bullshit.

 Wow you suck at using the google, this came up top of the list, and CNN to boot:
Washington (CNN)The FBI last year used a dossier of allegations of Russian ties to Donald Trump's campaign as part of the justification to win approval to secretly monitor a Trump associate, according to US officials briefed on the investigation.

The dossier has also been cited by FBI Director James Comey in some of his briefings to members of Congress in recent weeks, as one of the sources of information the bureau has used to bolster its investigation, according to US officials briefed on the probe.

CNN crylon reads: "sources: FBI used Trump dossier to help get secret wire tap warrant in Russia investigation"

I don't think there's anything wrong with using it as part of the evidence to get a FISA warrant.

I don't think it should have been enough to get a FISA warrant on its own.

But, there definitely was more evidence.

It wasn't the first time Carter Page had a FISA warrant on him.

He had a FISA warrant on him as far back as 2014. I guess the Deep Staters were priming the field and getting FISA warrants on all potential Trump advisors before he had even announced his candidacy? :coffee:

Re: Сделаем Америку снова великой! Trump - Russia megathread

The FBI is investigating whether a top Russian banker with ties to the Kremlin illegally funneled money to the National Rifle Association to help Donald Trump win the presidency, two sources familiar with the matter have told McClatchy.

FBI counterintelligence investigators have focused on the activities of Alexander Torshin, the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank who is known for his close relationships with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the NRA, the sources said.

It is illegal to use foreign money to influence federal elections.

It’s unclear how long the Torshin inquiry has been ongoing, but the news comes as Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s sweeping investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election, including whether the Kremlin colluded with Trump’s campaign, has been heating up.

All of the sources spoke on condition of anonymity because Mueller’s investigation is confidential and mostly involves classified information.

A spokesman for Mueller’s office declined comment.

Disclosure of the Torshin investigation signals a new dimension in the 18-month-old FBI probe of Russia’s interference. McClatchy reported a year ago that a multi-agency U.S. law enforcement and counterintelligence investigation into Russia’s intervention, begun even before the start of the 2016 general election campaign, initially included a focus on whether the Kremlin secretly helped fund efforts to boost Trump, but little has been said about that possibility in recent months.

The extent to which the FBI has evidence of money flowing from Torshin to the NRA, or of the NRA’s participation in the transfer of funds, could not be learned.

However, the NRA reported spending a record $55 million on the 2016 elections, including $30 million to support Trump – triple what the group devoted to backing Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race. Most of that was money was spent by an arm of the NRA that is not required to disclose its donors.

Two people with close connections to the powerful gun lobby said its total election spending actually approached or exceeded $70 million. The reporting gap could be explained by the fact that independent groups are not required to reveal how much they spend on Internet ads or field operations, including get-out-the-vote efforts.
Torshin, a leading figure in Putin’s party, has been implicated in money laundering by judicial authorities in Spain, as Bloomberg News first revealed in 2016. Spanish investigators alleged in an almost 500-page internal report that Torshin, who was then a senator, capitalized on his government role to assist mobsters laundering funds through Spanish properties and banks, Bloomberg reported

A summary obtained by McClatchy of the still-secret report links Torshin to Russian money laundering and describes him as a godfather in a major Russian criminal organization called Taganskaya.

Investigators for three congressional committees probing Russia’s 2016 operations also have shown interest in Torshin, a lifetime NRA member who has attended several of its annual conventions. At the group’s meeting in Kentucky in May 2016, Torshin spoke to Donald Trump Jr. during a gala event at the group’s national gathering in Kentucky in May 2016, when his father won an earlier-than-usual NRA presidential endorsement.

Why the reluctance by Trump Administration/Campaign officials and former Trump Administration/Campaign officials to testify?
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
