NAU up on Sac 17-7 with under 13 minutes left in the 2nd qtr. Hornet offense struggling mightily without Thomson. Wulff bailed on Ale too early, Clapper brings nothing to this offense. This one is likely over.

A bullet pass somehow goes between two NAU DBs and Sac gets a long TD.

20-17 'Jacks, late-3Q

NAU misses a FG, but Sac was called for leveraging and the 'Jacks followed that with a TD.

30-17 NAU, early-4Q

NoDak beats Portland State 48-21 after trailing 14-0
Davis only up 31-28 on Cal Poly with 1:00 left

Now a final.

For the Big Sky: every single point-spread favorite won, and all except Davis covered.

What a horrible weekend....

1. Stockton-St. Mary's 56, Lodi 0 on Senior Night last night at the Historic Grape Bowl.
2. NAU 37, Sac State 17.
3. Eight hours at work on a Saturday preceded by having to dumpster-dive for my keys, and followed by working on a sermon until 10 PM.

Hopefully my Cowboys can redeem this nightmare tomorrow....

For a McNeese fan this one was similar to Nicholls State only worse because they were playing a better team that could take more advantage. McNeese had 20 first downs to Central Arkansas' 11. They rushed for 206 yards at 5.2 yards per carry while holding Central Arkansas to 75 rushing yards at 2.1 yards per carry. They out gained Central Arkansas 417 to 323 in total yards. They held a 33:39 to 26:21 time of possession edge. They ran 75 offensive plays while Central Arkansas ran 51.

But they gave up three big TD pass plays (instead of two like they did against Nicholls) of 55, 54, and 48 yards, gave up a TD on a blocked punt, and gave up a TD on a fumble scoop and score.

Frustrating because there is no question they were physically good enough to win the game. Clearly the better team at the line of scrimmage. But they ended up getting blown out. Very sad. They are going to waste having a very strong front 6 on defense and some very good running backs on offense this year because they blow coverages and shoot themselves in the foot a lot.

The Central Arkansas offense had 157 yards and 3 touchdowns on three long pass plays. They had 166 total yards and one touchdown during their other 48 offensive plays.

Yes I know it's all part of the game but it's still frustrating to be a fan and see the team you're pulling for lay an egg in a game like that where they obviously have the edge at the line of scrimmage. When you win at the line of scrimmage like McNeese did last night you should win the game. And you sure as hell shouldn't get blown out.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
