Never count out Kershaw's postseason choking abilities.89Hen wrote:Dodgers vs somebody seems hard to bet against.Ivytalk wrote:You mean a Dodgers-Astros World Series is not inevitable?

Dodgers have the weight of history on them too - been a long time since we've seen the Dodgers in the World Series.89Hen wrote:Dodgers vs somebody seems hard to bet against.Ivytalk wrote:You mean a Dodgers-Astros World Series is not inevitable?

Get back to me when the Nats fail to win a playoff series again this year.89Hen wrote:GannonFan wrote:

Gonna go out on a limb here - this is the Nat's year. SP (Scherzer, Gio, Straus/Roark), rebuilt BP, murderer's row lineup even with the injuries (Turner, Taylor, Werth, etc. - all on track to return). Lind/Difo/Sanchez/Kendrick/Goodwin all thrown into the breach and clicking. Weaknesses are catcher and no true closer, though Doolittle seems to be settling in.

I know I'm contradicting myself here, but if Kershaw doesn't pull a Kershaw the Dodgers are going to waltz to the Series.Rob Iola wrote:Gonna go out on a limb here - this is the Nat's year. 89Hen says that history has zero bearing (maybe even less than that, it could be negative) on future performances so the Dodgers may have technically already won the World Series. Check with him.Grizalltheway wrote:I know I'm contradicting myself here, but if Kershaw doesn't pull a Kershaw the Dodgers are going to waltz to the Series.Rob Iola wrote:Gonna go out on a limb here - this is the Nat's year. Astros have been the talk of baseball for a few years now.
Dodgers are like the 2001 Mariners.

I wouldn't fall into that category, so no. They just haven't been getting any talk around MLB, so it came as a surprise to see them doing so well.Grizalltheway wrote:People who pay attention to more than just the latest team they've bandwagoned?89Hen wrote: Are the Astros even going to make the playoffs?

Twins carrying might Joe Mauer's contract into the playoff hunt, and a possible Gold Glove for Mauer.
