I've seen conflicting reports (apparently, there aren't more pressing matters to worry about. Trumps golf game is what matters) but just visiting a golf club doesn't mean you played a round. Sounds like more fake news originated from WaPo. McMaster says nothing inappropriate discussed with Russians.Skjellyfetti wrote:https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/na ... &tid=sm_twTrump revealed highly classified information to Russian foreign minister and ambassador
President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former U.S. officials, who said that Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State.
The information Trump relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.
The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said that Trump’s decision to do so risks cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and National Security Agency.
“This is code-word information,” said a U.S. official familiar with the matter, using terminology that refers to one of the highest classification levels used by American spy agencies. Trump “revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.”

independently confirmed.
McMaster is spinning it as "souces and methods" weren't disclosed - which, none of the reporting claimed.

It's cool...the WaPo with 140 years of history in the heart of DC, its insider government connections, the trust it's built with anonymous sources, its staff of fact-checkers, and reporters which have journalism degrees...is fake news. But Breitbart and The Blaze got this facts stuff down to a science.

And Reuters - 160+ years old. Probably the most respected news outlet in the world.
All of these news agencies are just coordinating together to make stuff up!
While ignoring the Seth Rich bombshell!! When is the Washington Post and Reuters going to run a story on that?!

http://www.nytimes.com/1973/05/02/archi ... .html?_r=0Ronald L. Ziegler, the White House press secretary, apologized to The Washington Post today for his earlier criticisms of the newspaper's coverage of the Watergate case.
Mr. Ziegler apology to The Post and to its investigative reporters, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, who have made a number of important disclosures about the Watergate case, came in response to a question.
Several times in the last two weeks, Mr. Ziegler had refused to apologize when asked similar questions about his statements last October accusing The Post and its reporters of “shabby journalism” and “a blatant effort at character assassination.”

Yeah, and it's really the fact that all of these organizations have corroborated the original report (that did NOT say Trump revealed methods or sources).
Newspapers aren't flawless. They make mistakes and credible ones will correct the record when they publish something is false.
It's hard to believe this list of papers all published something completely false.

I looked it up; the story has an editor's note stating the correction (see link below). A real news source has a massive amount of facts that need to be checked and cycled through. Sometimes things slip through and they're misworded and/or misreported. Fortunately, real journalists also follow-up and make corrections when it's necessary.BDKJMU wrote:Well then the Russians recently penetrated the US power grid through through a Vermont utility..The WaPo said so..so according to you it must be true...∞∞∞ wrote:It's cool...the WaPo with 140 years of history in the heart of DC, its insider government connections, the trust it's built with anonymous sources, its staff of fact-checkers, and reporters which have journalism degrees...is fake news. I certainly trust the WaPo (and the NYT, AP, Reuters, etc.) more than most sources of information, and definitely more than internet-only sites who've hired senior "editors" like Milo Yiannopoulos. I don't believe everything that's stated, but the "fake news" sources you've called out have proven reliable enough that if you're not blinded by personal bias, they'll assist in fairly assessing and forming an opinion of a situation.

You make it sound so simple and just excuse away their extreme journalistic wrecklessness, and initial hysteria their false article started.∞∞∞ wrote:I looked it up; the story has an editor's note stating the correction (see link below). Re: Сделаем Америку снова великой!
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/trumps-di ... d=47449304The life of a spy placed by Israel inside ISIS is at risk tonight, according to current and former U.S. officials, after President Donald Trump reportedly disclosed classified information in a meeting with Russian officials last week.
The spy provided intelligence involving an active ISIS plot to bring down a passenger jet en route to the United States, with a bomb hidden in a laptop that U.S. officials believe can get through airport screening machines undetected. The information was reliable enough that the U.S. is considering a ban on laptops on all flights from Europe to the United States.
The sensitive intelligence was shared with the United States, officials say, on the condition that the source remain confidential.
“The real risk is not just this source,” said Matt Olsen, the former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center and an ABC News contributor, “but future sources of information about plots against us.”

FWIW the site I found that I like...which means you probably won't...does rate the Washington Post as having a "left center" bias. But it also rates the paper's "Factual Reporting" as "High." See https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/2016/11/ ... gton-post/.
Reuters gets gold stars in both areas. Rated "Least biased" and its factual reporting is rated "Very high." See https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/2016/10/ ... k-reuters/.
Fox News (which I used to defend)? The ratings are "Right bias" and factual reporting level "Mixed." See https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/2016/08/ ... -fox-news/.

Exactly one source of news isn't going to give you a full picture. Reuters is great - but, they don't have the number of sources in Washington, DC that the Washington Post has. Not even close. They aren't going to break as many stories about US politics as the Washington Post.kalm wrote:Why trust anything, including Reuters? But, again. Reuters independently corroborated the Washington Post's story. Let's move on from BDK's headfake.

He allowed an agreement between US and China - passed by Congress and signed by REAGAN to continue.
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/?pid=38172Ronald Reagan wrote:I am pleased to sign into law today S.J. Res. 238, in which the Congress states that it favors the agreement for peaceful nuclear cooperation between the United States and the People's Republic of China, which I transmitted to Congress on July 24, 1985. The agreement will have a significant, positive effect on the relations between the United States and the People's Republic of China and will lead to a continuing dialog with China on important nuclear energy and nonproliferation matters.
http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1997/10/29/china.summit/Putting aside stubborn differences on human rights and democratic reform, President Bill Clinton and Chinese President Jiang Zemin today announced a pact aimed at halting the spread of nuclear weapons and giving China access to U.S. nuclear power plant technology.
After 2 1/2 hours of talks with the Chinese leader, Clinton told a news conference he intends to certify China as not exporting nuclear technology for weapons development by other countries, a move that also clears the way for U.S. companies to sell nuclear power technology to the Chinese.
"This agreement is a win-win-win," Clinton said. "It serves America's national security, environmental and economic interests ... It is the right thing to do for America."
The deal, which would allow a 1985 U.S.-China Nuclear Cooperation Agreement to go into effect, had been expected. It was overshadowed by the two leaders' blunt exchange over the 1989 protests at Beijing's Tiananmen Square, still a point of tension in U.S.-China relations.
FOCUS, PEOPLE.

I can't even imagine what's going through that person's head right now, or the personnel associated with his safety; hopefully he gets out without being discovered, although we're about to lose a great intelligence asset regardless of the outcome.Skjellyfetti wrote:http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/trumps-di ... d=47449304The life of a spy placed by Israel inside ISIS is at risk tonight, according to current and former U.S. officials, after President Donald Trump reportedly disclosed classified information in a meeting with Russian officials last week.

Additionally, Trump is visiting Israel in a few days. Obviously the security behind any Presidential visit is huge, but security abroad will always be tougher to handle than at home. This stupidity is his own doing but as much as I dislike Trump, I don't want him to get hurt.
And again, hopefully the spy doesn't get hurt either.
