I bet Trump backs down and Hillary doesn't spend a single minute behind bars. :coffee:

The only reason kalm isn't a "dem supporter" is because the party is too close to the middle for his liking.
The Party would need to move quite a bit left to even be able to see the center. :coffee:

No, it's just that it's not far enough left for the guy who is off the charts these days.

Son? I'm in my 50s fwiw - if you're in your 60s or 70s then I guess you can say that...

So why the crack about conks not getting tough on financial crimes?
If you're a conk, you're supposed to be tough on crime. 'Hang 'em high' I say!'

It just doesn't seem like we saw very many calls around prosecuting financial crimes. And that's of course from both parties. Billion dollar fines have simply become a cost of doing business. If I know I can negotiate a settlement for $10 billion with government, after making $60 billion rigging the system, why wouldn't I?

Serious jail time for a few execs might change that dynamic.

We know donks have been in bed with Wall Street and play the crony capitalism game strong. But conks are supposed to be tough on crime and into competition and the free market and all that stuff.

Oh well...

Guilty as charged. But I'm right in the middle when it comes to the American people on key issues like the war on drugs, money in politics, nation building, weed legalization, Wall Street, entitlement programs....

You often confuse ideology with corporatism. In this sytem, corporatism transcends ideology. It's OK...I've seen it a thousand times... 8-)

Yeah I was a little reduntantly redundant there.

But of course it's a key issue. Add up the costs associated, the role it plays with the prison industrial complex, states rights, limited government...

Yes we conservatives are monolithic that way

If I was in charge of the criminal codes I'd get rid of about 75% of the entire thing.

But by all means, let's get tough on those potheads and people selling cigarettes on the street or practicing dentistry without a license

I wish as a society we asked (active and retired) Police Officers their opinions
about what works and what doesn't work as far as laws and crime

Instead of just using them as some kind of hammer to pound nails
we need to create a dialogue with cops in regards to "the world we live in" in it's most honest state

I'm not sure where you see me suggesting one size fits all..?
and secondly I'm simply suggesting we utilize retired officers as a resource for knowledge
allowing us to write wiser laws and create a better system

because we'd have more reasonable and understandable legislation on a national level...

Yeah... you NEVER paint liberals with a broad brush.

Conks are supposed to be tough on crime. They are when it comes to weed but not so much when it comes to financial crimes (neither are the donks). Roll your eyes all you want.

The rest of your post is a good example of why you're at least a palatable conk. :kisswink:

Actually, I don't

Feel free to post a link though.

I DO call out doctrinaire, check all the progressive fad boxes liberals pretending to be moderates, though. Since there's only one in this forum I don't have to do it often.

Nope,
A certain style of legislation
I'm talking about laws not law enforcement

Using law enforcement officers ideas on laws

I wasn't going to go down the rabbit hole since you seemed so sure. But once I decided to, it was kind of fun. I first searched your user name and the word "Klam". It brought up a ton of hits, and I'm flattered.

I then switched to "the left" and found this one where Chizzy chastises you for hypocrisy and pretty much doing what I said. 8-)

There's only one problem

The "left" HAS been losing their collective sh1t, just as predicted. And the hair pulling isn't coming from the fringe - it's coming from up and down the spectrum. I even have colleagues- former tut-tutters, Georgetown and Harvard educated progressives - who thought those "Obama is a Muslim" flyover country bumpkins were so dramatic

Now they're in full "the Nazis are coming let's head for the hills" mode

Almost to a man- and they're all publicizing the protest marches they are going to in a few weeks.

So the original post and my reply are strangely prescient - Clitzstain's 'yes but conservatives do it too' allusion notwithstanding
