They were the better team because they won. It was certainly an unconventional path to victory, but UNC made the right plays at the right times & the Griz didn't.

I would argue that the better team doesn't always win. I think any rational person would agree with that. Were the Giants really a better team than the undefeated Patriots in 2008 (or whatever year that was)? No. They just got lucky that day. Sometimes the better team loses.

Sometimes the better team on paper loses, but the team that played better that day never loses by definition (unless the refs blew it on a decisive final play or something, like what happened in the CMU/Oklahoma State contest).

They didn't deserve the win. The Griz gave it to them.

Did you watch the game? UNC scored on a blocked punt and two big plays. Otherwise they couldnt do anything. Montana won every stat except the score.

Yeah, I was there. Montana loses because of breakdowns in the kicking game. Punter dropped a perfectly placed ball by center, kick blocked after having to pick it back up and try to complete punt, TD the other way.

Montana misses easy field goal, and extra point, that right there sealed their fate, even not considering the punt block/TD return. Montana led in first downs, rushing yards, passing yards and total yards.

UNC made fewer mistakes, and their defense was stout.

First win over Montana since 1976, when yours truly was a participant. Ironically, Montana ripped off ten straight over the Bears until my return to Greeley.
