Big Sky Week 9 Review + Power Rankings

Give me a good reason to put anyone other than EWU, UND and CPSLO ahead of Weber. And none of those "Because Montana reasons"

Here's several reasons: Sac State, UC-D, MSU, PSU, SUU, a combined 6-19 (and three of THOSE wins belong to SUU--a team Montana also beat). THAT'S who you've played in conference.
Common Opponents:

Suck State: Weber wins 14-7, Montana wins 68-7
SUU: Weber wins 37-36, Montana wins 43-20

The ONE good team you played you lost to. You (and UNC) will come crashing down to reality in the next two weeks.

By your common opponents and points scored against logic UNC would be better than Montana since they could at least score 30 points on Eastern. Come to think of it UC Davis scored more against them too, and NAU, and UNI and even………Montana State.

I guess both MSU and ISU are also better than Weber since they scored more on Sac than Weber did as well...

A win is a win and a loss is a loss regardless of whether it's by 1 point or 40.

Your right Weber has played the bottom half of their conf schedule up till now. But Montana has fared no better with their weak schedule, losing to every good team they played. Unless you count juggernaut St. Francis of the powerhouse NEC conference. It's funny, if Montana beats up on the pasties of the conference and lose to the better teams they are a good competitive team, but if someone else does it they are pretenders. Warped logic.

Honestly Weber may lose to both NAU and Poly. And the power rankings in the future would reflect that. As of now Weber is 4-1 and Montana is 2-3 and to me Weber deserves the higher spot.

My power rankings

1. Eastern Washington - They deserve this spot and honestly I don't think there is another team in the Big Sky who could beat them this year.

2. North Dakota - Defense wins championships. If their offense was a just a bit more explosive I'd put them in at #1

3. Cal Poly - I have them at number three. Cal Poly has struggled? in their last three wins...regardless they are still very good.

4. Weber State - If this team could find some offensive consistency they would be very very dangerous.

5. Northern Arizona - after a slow Cookus-less start to the season NAU has won 3 in a row. Momentum is huge in college football

6. Montana - Obviously not a top Big Sky team, but they are still a pretty good football team

7. Southern Utah - Too bad SUU has to play BYU still, if they had gotten another fcs team to play they would still have a shot at the playoffs.

8. Northern Colorado - UNC looks like they may be on the rise, loss to Davis is a bit of a head scratcher though.

9. Portland State - My Big Sky disappointment of the year. Don't know what happened but the magic has obviously been drained.

10. UC Davis - 9 and 10 in this poll could easily be swapped. Luckily they play each other this week.

11. Idaho State - The Bengals have looked just awful this year, but they do have one conference win this year...against the # 12 team in this poll........

12. Sacramento State - Sacramento really needs to let Sears go. The guy's teams have literally gotten worse each year.

13. Montana State - The inability to win conference games will put you in last place in actual standings and fan power polls.

I think everyone knows that if SUU and Weber play that game 10 times, SUU wins at least 8 of them. SUU dominated the whole game until they stepped on their dicks in the last 6 minutes of the game.

Yeah, UCD scored more on EWU. Then again, they also GAVE UP 63 and lost by 33....so, no, your logic is flawed.
MSU LOST to Sac State....not sure what your point is there...
UNC....well, we'll know in about 8 days who's better between them and UM, won't we?

The whole point of my first paragraph was you can't judge teams based on how they played against other teams since football is a game to game sport. For example, Weber scored 14 points on Sacramento State, two weeks later MSU scores 38 on Sacramento State in Sacramento. Then Weber scores 45 on Montana State in a blowout. See what I'm saying? Southern Utah who probably should have beaten Weber (woulda, coulda, shoulda). They got beat by UND 45-23. Weber lost to UND 27-19. Game by game, So no my logic is not flawed.

2. Glad a win vs ISU counts as two wins and losses to both NAU and Poly only count as one loss.
3. You say NAU sweeps their season and is in and then 4 sentences later leave them out of the playoffs
4. UM should win out with a remaining schedule as weak as that one. Then the Griz will go into the playoffs as one of the most over-rated 8-3 football teams without a win against anyone good. But it's the Griz so it's ok.

New Power rankings

1. Eastern Washington- Best team in the league

2. North Dakota- They might not be beating their opponents in the same fashion Eastern is but they are still beating them.

3. Northern Arizona- Who needs Case Cookus? Weber will take him

4. Cal Poly- Two conference losses come from 6-0 Eastern Wash and 7-0 NoDak.

5. Montana- Montana's defense hasn't looked the same for the last 3 weeks. Their offense will need to step up in a big way like it did vs ISU.

6. Weber State- At first this team was looking for offensive consistency, now they are looking for offensive confidence.

7. Southern Utah- After this week SUU's chances at a possible playoff appearance comes to an end.

8. Northern Colorado- Da Bears really really REALLY need a win this weekend for they face total playoff elimination.

9. Portland State- Where was their offensive production they had last weekend the rest of their season?

10. UC Davis- Is it possibly time for a change at the helm for the Aggies?

11. Idaho State- Kramer has one year left on his contract and ISU cant afford to pay him off.

12. Sacramento State- Well at least they didn't lose this weekend.

13. Montana State- In all the years I have been a fan of Weber and followed the Big Sky I never thought I'd see the day when MSU was the worst team in the conference.
