BTW the kind of thing I described is going on right now. I thought it was just Trump but I saw Jack Kingston on a while ago and he did the same thing. He said that the fact that the FBI "re-opened" the case means they found something REALLY significant. Referred back to Comey answering a question during Congressional testimony by saying that if they saw something really significant they'd look into it.

I don't know how much more clearly Comey could've written that such is not the case. The letter clearly states, "...the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant." It's clearly not a situation in which the FBI saw some kind of affirmative indication that there was wrong doing.

And we got further confirmation of that in the form of Comey's memo to FBI employees. In that he wrote, "At the same time, however, given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression. "

Well, I think the Republicans have the "misleading impression" creation covered. Once again Republicans are putting out a "leaping to conclusions" narrative; trying to get a certain impression that is not substantiated created. And they've been doing that crap for over 20 years now.

And yes I know the Democrats do the same sort of thing. Just ask George W. Bush. But we're talking about Clinton now and when you really drill down there's very little "there" there in the corruption charges. So far it's always ended up in a situation in which no corruption is documented.

All that's happened here is the FBI found out there are e mails they want to look at. In Comey's letter to FBI employees he said that they're just at the point of "...seeking access to emails that have recently been found in an unrelated case." At this point it's not a big deal at all except that it happened in the context of a political campaign with 11 days to go.

It's become completely clear that what's happening with Comey's letter is an excellent example of the way in which Republicans have, over many years, distorted information pertaining to HIllary Clinton to exaggerate the impression of impropriety. This morning it was Ben Fergusons asserting that the fact that the FBI sent the letter 11 days before an election means there must have seen something REALLY serious. Ferguson, Trump, and others on the Republican side have to know the information at hand CLEARLY says otherwise. The letter to Congressional leaders explicitly says the FBI didn't know if any of the letters were signficiant and the memo to FBI employees clearly states that when the letter to Congressional leaders was transmitted the FBI had not seen any of the content. It was at the point of seeking access to the e mails. The letter clearly was not sent due to finding any indication of wrongdoing on Clinton's part; serious or otherwise.

Why do I think the perception of Clinton corruption is exaggerated? This kind of thing is why. For decades Republicans have been doing the sort of thing they're doing right now. Making assertions that are not really supported by the information at hand but nevertheless become part of the public perception.

All the pearl clutching, finger pointing, accusations of FBI meddling, and minimizing of the illegal activities of one of the most corrupt political dynasties in our history aside-

The Democrats have no one but Hillary Clinton to blame for this.

I read a quote this morning that went something like, "If you run your business like the Dalton Gang you shouldn't be surprised if the Pinkertons keep showing up."

JSO, you may wanna think that Constitution Party thing real hard brother. I went to one CP state rally a few years back over in Gville to hear the various candidates talk about the positions. Of all the candidates I listened to and spent time talking with that day, ONLY 2 could be considered rational human beings.

One female candidate when asked about her stance on illegal immigration promptly picked up a Bible and went on some religious, anti-science tirade that I thought would never end and had absolutely NOTHING to do with the question asked her. Very unsettling. Another got on a kick about how he couldn't wait until the day the entire west coast plunged into the Pacific.

I voted for the one CP candidate in my district but he, and others, lost bad to Jeff Duncan, our current Repub shrill in DC. Haven't given this bunch another look since. Weird.

Well, I can continue to search but one thing for sure is that I now have sworn off voting for Republicans for the foreseeable future. The thing about how they're lying about the FBI letter right now really came to a head when I heard Kelly Conway repeating the same misinformation talking point about how Comey wouldn't have done this unless there was a "smoking gun."

The dishonesty is now completely over the top. Until this election cycle I always looked at the Republican Party as imperfect but better than the Democratic Party. A check on that Democratic Party. But what's been revealed during this election cycle is that the Republican Party is an immoral, thoroughly corrupt institution. At least as corrupt as the Democratic Party is. And really, really intelllectually dishonest.

It's got a critical mass of hateful, astoundingly ignorant people in its electorate. It's as dishonest as dishonest gets. No way I'm voting Republican in ANY election in the foreseeable future so I guess I'm going to have to go the "waste my vote" third Party route.

Too bad you couldn't have begun that stance a month ago. Instead, you voted for the most corrupt person in the history of Presidential nominees.

That's what's sad. You probably honestly believe that Hillary Clinton is the more corrupt person of the two major Party nominees. And she's not.

Hillary Clinton CAN'T be the most corrupt person in the history of Presidential nominees because Donald Trump is among the historical Presidential nominees now.

No it's not. I usually don't get personal but what you're showing is the fact that ignorance plays a role in Trump support. You're talking about Clinton being corrupt when you're supporting one of the most corrupt individuals to ever walk the planet.

You've completely divorced yourself from reality. Clinton is the most corrupt person running. Trump isn't corrupt...he's simply a blubbering idiot.

Then who are you supporting? Since you abandoned Drumpf, and you think Johnson is a "cute" vote, and you hate Hillary, what are you doing? Pulling an 89 and leaving a blank ballot?
