1 thing I found very strange. The FBI interviewed Clinton for 3 1/2 hrs yet reportedly didn't put her under oath nor did they record tbe interview. I find it hard to believe that would be FBI SOP when interviewing subjects of investigations..

Actually, longstanding SOP in the FBI is to NOT record audio or video in interviews like this. It is is criticism the FBI has rightly come under - the reason for it is that putting these down on a Form 306 or whatever they call it allows agents to make inferences without b scrutinized on the exact words used in the interviews (this scrutiny coming mainly from defense attorneys).BDKJMU wrote:1 thing I found very strange. I think that the FBI has changed the policy but the practice still exists in some cases.

Well, that's not what he said.JohnStOnge wrote: I think it is very important to understand that with respect to the e mail thing Clinton did not benefit from a different set of rules. In fact, one thing Comey was cleary concerned about was NOT holding her to a different and HIGHER standard because of who she was. He'd have been trying to charge her under circumstances in which the "everyday" person would not have been charged.

To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions.

JSO...interpreting things his own way.
Now, with JSO's new found love for not following the law, maybe Hillary will appoint JSO to the Supreme Court.

Fvcking conks are like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. They know Lucy is going to move it but they're just too fvcking stupid to to try something different. There wasn't any big threat to national security as a result of Hillary having a private server. Republicans are engaged in trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. And they're going to get burned doing it. Again.
And what I expected to come across when I was able to watch part of the hearing today came across. It came across as partisan. They're out to get Clinton. Democrats are out to protect her. Now they're going to try to get her on lying under oath to Congress. And they're going to fail. And it's going to be "there they go again" to people who are on the fence.
They're on a witch hunt...and yes I know that's particular apt terminology in this case...and it's obvious.
Thankfully, this time I'm on the side that's going to be happy to see them continue to dig their own grave.

Worse than that, they have resorted to not even trying to kick the ball, instead kicking themselves directly in the balls. McCain/Palin
Romney/Ryan
Now Trump/what ever the fuck his name is..
Odds makers are moving the markers in Clinton's favor even more in the last three weeks, giving Trump no better than a 30% chance and as little as 20% along the betting lines. These are not polls, these are the line currently on who wins the WH.

Yes I was just thinking about that because just before I came here I went to RealClearPolitics and noticed the betting odds listed there are 71:29 in Clinton's favor right now. I can remember driving in Biloxi, MS, the day before the Brexit vote and hearing someone on the radio say the betting odds favored the "stay" option.CAA Flagship wrote:The betting lines were wrong on the Brexit.
But that's the thing about betting odds. If someone says the odds are 70:30, you bet on the favorite, and the favorite loses it doesn't mean the odds are "wrong." The expectation is that if you bet a whole bunch of times on the favorites in circumstances where the odds are 70:30 you're going to lose about 30 percent of the time. So you know going in it's going to go the other way sometimes.

Yes that is what he said. He said people would not have been charged. Then he went on to say that is not to say there would have been NO consequences and talked about the stuff you mentioned.clenz wrote:Well, that's not what he said.JohnStOnge wrote: I think it is very important to understand that with respect to the e mail thing Clinton did not benefit from a different set of rules. To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions.
If you're intellectually honest and google around you will see numerous references to the fact that he did not want to hold her to a different standard and felt he would have done that if he had recommended criminally charging her. Example at http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politic ... 76792.html
Comey, however, said Clinton’s mishandling of classified material was not held to a different standard from that of lower-ranking military or civilian officials.
In fact, he testified that if he had recommended prosecution, he would have broken with nearly a century-long Justice Department tradition of not seeking criminal charges in cases of “gross negligence.”
“So given that assessment of the facts, and my understanding of the law, my conclusion was and remains no reasonable prosecutor would bring this case,” he said.

"FBI, DOJ roiled by Comey, Lynch decision to let Clinton slide by on emails, says insider
The decision to let Hillary Clinton off the hook for mishandling classified information has roiled the FBI and Department of Justice, with one person closely involved in the year-long probe telling FoxNews.com that career agents and attorneys on the case unanimously believed the Democratic presidential nominee should have been charged.
The source, who spoke to FoxNews.com on the condition of anonymity, said FBI Director James Comey’s dramatic July 5 announcement that he would not recommend to the Attorney General’s office that the former secretary of state be charged left members of the investigative team dismayed and disgusted. More than 100 FBI agents and analysts worked around the clock with six attorneys from the DOJ’s National Security Division, Counter Espionage Section, to investigate the case.
“No trial level attorney agreed, no agent working the case agreed, with the decision not to prosecute -- it was a top-down decision,” said the source, whose identity and role in the case has been verified by FoxNews.com.............."

New FBI documents related to investigation released today....
Shameful....
Shameful....
http://sli.mg/idRAtWShortly thereafter [redacted] received a call from [redacted] of the INTERNAL OPERATIONS DIVISION [IOD] of the FBI who "PRESSURED" him to change the classified email to unclassified.
[Redacted] indicated he had been contacted by PATRICK KENNEDY, Undersecretary of State, who had asked for his assistance in altering the emails classification in exchange for a "QUID PRO QUO."
[Redacted] advised that, in exchange for marking the email unclassified, STATE would reciprocate by allowing the FBI AGENTS to place more Agents in countries where they are presently forbidden.

Re: Countdown til Hillary is Officially off the Hook for violating NDA
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/26/us/po ... .html?_r=0In a March 2015 interview, President Obama said that he had learned about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state “the same time everybody else learned it, through news reports.”
But that assertion concerned aides of Mrs. Clinton, who knew that the president himself had received emails from the private address, according to a hacked email made public on Tuesday by WikiLeaks.
“We need to clean this up — he has emails from her — they do not say state.gov,” Cheryl D. Mills, a top aide, wrote to John D. Podesta, another senior adviser, on March 7, 2015.
Two days later, Mr. Obama’s spokesman, Josh Earnest, tried to clarify the president’s remarks, saying that he had, in fact, exchanged emails with Mrs. Clinton through her private account. But Mr. Earnest suggested that the president had no idea the emails could be a problem because he had relied on Mrs. Clinton to make sure that using a private account did not break any laws.
A few things here
1) Obama lied. Not only that, but he lied about transparency why praising himself for being transparent.
2) I have no problem with Obama emailing Clinton, since he should rely on her making sure she wasn't breaking any laws.
3) You think these people would have learn that the cover-up is always worse than the actual crime.
And she wants to be our President.
