That doesn't even make any sense. What's going on with Trump is not the stereotypical "Southern Strategy." In fact his big thing is to try to win in the "rust belt." What my wife has supported during the past 30 years is original understanding of the Constitution government. Trump has nothing to do with that.houndawg wrote:You're wrong and I know you know that. Jesus John, pull your head out, son. The Southern Strategy is the reason for Trump. Trump, exactly like the SS, needs a base of people that are stupid enough to, for example, believe that what is good for billionaires is good for Bubba too, and that it's them nigras getting a free ride that is the cause of all our problems. Don't you moisten your panties over the delicious irony of the GOP getting the living shit kicked out of them by somebody using the GOPs own creation?

Well, technically the Southern Strategy was the creation of the Democrats prior to LBJ, then taken by the Republicans after LBJ. So really it's the Democrats using their own creation that they lost but are now using again to damage the Republicans.houndawg wrote:JohnStOnge wrote:

Your observation is a perfect description of Donald Trump. It's not a perfect description of Hillary because she has done things during her life which appear to be selfless.Things where she appeared interested in serving others. Like for instance what she did when she finished Yale Law. Instead of taking a high paying job she wanted to go work for the Children's Defense Fund. The Children's defense fund couldn't pay her so she got a grant that ended up in her being paid $18,000 per year to do it.Ibanez wrote:Hilary's nature is to lie, obfuscate and serve only herself.JohnStOnge wrote:

Trump? He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has never done anything other than pursue his own self interest. And he does lie more than Clinton does. At this point I don't see how any objective person could even think it's close.
And BTW Hillary grew up in a middle class family and she knows what a middle class life is like. Trump has no idea. He was born into a rich family, his Daddy set him up as an adult, and he went from there.

Even though I disagree with HIllary I think she is running because she has certain fundamental beliefs about what is best for society. She wants to implement those beliefs. Re: My Wife Plans to Resign from State Republican Central Committee
There may have been a time when race was a big reason for the South turning Republican. But in recent times it's been way beyond that. Southern State populations tend to be more hostile to Democratic Party philosophy for many reasons that have nothing to do with race. They tend to be pro life, for instance.houndawg wrote:Jesus John, pull your head out, son. The Southern Strategy is the reason for Trump. What Trump is appealing to is more a mythology about some Golden Age where things were better for the "common man" in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. They weren't better. But that's the mythology Trump is appealing to. And he is largely targeting the midwest. That's where he's hoping to make the difference.

Hillary, someone worth millions and millions, hasn't a clue as to what it's like being middle class in 2016. Maybe in the 60s-80s. But times has changed. And you are ignoring the fact that she lies, conceals the truth and overall is untrustworthy. It isn't just a small group on a football message board that believes it. In the latest pools, only 38% have a favorable view of her and only 11% think she's "honest and trustworthy."
I didn't say Trump was a better choice. I don't think that. But we don't have to chose either major party candidate and anyone that says you have to, is part of the problem.

Hillary doesn't have any altruism in her genetic code. It's all selfishness and mendacity.
