Romney looking like Nostradamus now

Post by ASUG8 »

This, Mr. President, will be your legacy. We supported the rebels, Putin steps in and takes Assad's side, then muscles us out of the conflict. Since we've demonstrated that we like being pushed around, Putin is pushing even harder.
The Russian military is considering the possibility of regaining its Soviet-era bases on Cuba and in Vietnam, the Defense Ministry said Friday, a statement that comes amid growing U.S.-Russia tensions over Syria.
In 2001, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the military to pull back from Cuba and Vietnam as he sought to bolster ties with the United States. The U.S.-Russian relations now have plunged to the lowest point since the Cold War times amid strain over Syria and Ukraine.
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wir ... dlines_hed
The Russian government is ratcheting up warnings – on Twitter – to the U.S. government not to interfere with its military operations in Syria, even suggesting American aircraft could be targeted by its “air defense systems.”

Too late on Cuba. Now that the US is sending tourists, it's over for Russia there. Cuba will give up communism within 10 years.

Say what? The US is sending tourists to Vietnam and Red China, and the Commies still control both.

What Hillary/Obama supporting ABC didn't include in that particular article is that the newest Russian threat was in direct response to the US military (you know, those clowns that said Russia is our biggest threat....right JSO) openly saying they are contemplating cruise missile and air strikes on Assad's forces, as well as sending surface to air missiles to the so-called rebels, since Russia isn't coming to the peace table.

In fact, one arrogant military source said if we down "only a couple" of Russian military planes, the Russians will come back to the bargaining table. What an idiot...someone should dismiss that clown and anyone who thinks like him.

This is after several of our airstrikes accidentally killed 60 Syrian soldiers a week ago. Accidentally...that is laughable since we are telling everyone that we are able to precisely target our strikes.

Once again, we are in Russia's back yard, overthrowing a democratically elected government, and having a hissy fit and putting out a ridiculous spin since things aren't going our way.

After years of thawing out from the Cold War, Russia was starting to work with us on things...and that could help balance out China's expansion ideas. But Obama has tossed the US/Russia relationship in the shitter.

I'll tell you what...if I were Putin, I'd tell Obomba that if he arms the Syrian rebels with surface to air missiles, I'd arm every whack job in the Americas, and certain parts of Europe, with such weapons, without regard to what type of jets would be targeted.

Obomba and his Euro cronies have already killed 100,000s of people, and displaced millions, in this folly.

I think it was a weak attempt at a joke. No one seriously thinks tourism would deter the Russians from making a move on Cuba and Vietnam.

This is true, we are toppling governments that have served their purpose with/for us.
We are exporting cheap oil to Russia's market to financially bring them to their knees so that we can topple Syria.

Completely different IMO. Cuba is going to get a taste of US money and they will not be able to resist. Trust me, it's gonna be huge.

Nope. Not saying anything about Russian attempts, I'm talking strictly about Cuba. They will assimilate.

We shall see. I'm not wagering money on it, but it's a prediction that will either come true or not.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-cuba- ... SKCN11M08W
A handful of independent, web-based news outlets in Cuba are chipping away at the Communist-run island's half-century state media monopoly, challenging the official version of reality.

While low levels of internet access across the Caribbean island limits the outlets' domestic reach and they are not fully free to speak their mind, they are opening up the range of voices and sparking a debate about the role of the media in the one-party state.
http://us.blastingnews.com/opinion/2016 ... 21865.html
The Communist regime under Raul Castro still has total control over the Cubans. The country is still run by a dictator, its not a country where governments get democratically elected - as yet. It won't be long, however, before the millennials who are deemed as a 'useless' and technology-dependent generation, will rise against the communist oppression demanding change in Cuba's social and political reforms. The millennials are the new ones, the digital kind, the fashionistas who want to get wealthy and drive new fast cars and own lands without any control by the government. The sudden access to technology will bring a revolution of the kind the world witnessed during the Arab Uprising: the young educated Arabs brought about a revolution through the use of social media and fast internet using smartphones

How are our morals in the Honduras?? How are our morals in Bahrain? Yemen? :suspicious:

Yup...our morals are equal to that of the Russians. We both do what is in our own best interest...and by, "our own" I mean whatever our multinationals want.

But we say they are the bad guys killing innocent civilians.

Vietnam will in no way, fashion or form accept Russian bases.

Russia is too cozy with China and the Vietnamese see their budding friendship with the US as strategically essential ( misguided as they may be)

No, I said our morals are equal (I enlarged - no homo - and bolded that part for you) to that of the Russians...except that we meddle EVERYWHERE and pretend we are innocent whereas they tend to keep their meddling to spots near their border. :thumb:

I thought it was going to be about him warning against nominating Trump. And I was going to say anybody with a pulse SHOULD have been able to see that it was stupid for the Republicans to choose Trump as their nominee.

When U.S. Forces want near real training, we go to places like CA and NV where we have set up huge training sites for ground and air forces....they are called "Flag Exercises"

Russia is using Syria as a big Flag Exercise...working on new tactics and procedures...testing new equipment...

The difference between them and us, is civilians don't die when we do our exercises and testing...

And we're helping (not by agreement)...
