The way you avoid these fucktards is to major in something traditional, preferably a science.

There's crickets chirping in a lot of chemistry departments because these flowers are all majoring in anthropology at best, and oppression studies at worst

U of Michigan students to decide their own pronouns
In an effort to be inclusive, the University of Michigan announced Wednesday it will allow students to designate their own pronouns that will be reflected on class rosters.

UM students can select pronouns such as he, she, him, her, ze — a gender neutral pronoun — or other pronouns they identify with starting this week.

The change is so students can let others know which pronoun they identify with and expect others to use when referencing them, Provost Martha Pollack and Vice President for Student Life Royster Harper wrote to students on the Ann Arbor campus.
http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/l ... /91222056/

As Heat Street‘s Politics Editor Jillian Melchior reported this week, a new policy at the University of Michigan allows students to choose their preferred pronouns — including the gender-neutral “they” and “ze” — to appear on class rosters.

With that in mind, one conservative student, Grant Strobl, who is also chairman of the Young Americans for Freedom board of governors, decided to troll the university administration by officially requesting his pronoun to be changed to “His Majesty.”

This reminds me of a time (long, long ago) when I was in the navigation class in NROTC at El Cid and for weeks, the instructor was trying to get cadets to sign up to help with the make ready of the school's sailboat for the summer, because some midshipmen were going to do part of their summer cruise on it.

The signup sheet was categorized into what part of make ready people wanted to do (rigging/sails, deck, engineering, helm, etc). The instructor had been badgering us for several days so I signed up:

Name: Horatio
Rank: Lord Admiral
Department: Gunnery

Dude was pissed and railed at the class until I admitted it was me

Clemson recently had a similar incident, just not quite as bad at ETSU.
CLEMSON, SC – An incident that triggered days of protest in April over alleged racism on the Clemson University campus may not have been racially motivated.

7 News obtained emails through the Freedom of Information Act that show administrators discussing the incident in which bananas were left hanging on a banner promoting African-American history.

We prefer to be called The Oregon Trail Generation.
Members of this generation share traits with both Generation X and Millennials.[5] They have a relationship with both analog and digital technology. While they may have listened to records and used a typewriter as children, Cassie McClure writing for Las Cruces Sun-News says they were the first group of students to have access to personal computers and the Internet.[6]

As they began to enter the workforce, their choices were impacted by the events of September 11 and the Iraq war.[7] Nathan Heller writing for The New Yorker described older Millennials as follows: "People coming of age in that era of inevitable evils tend to be conservative in their life-style ideals...having reached adulthood on unstable ground, they’re opportunistic entrepreneurs, restless climbers, and deferential compromisers"[8]

Many who identify with this generation do so because they don't feel that the typical definitions of Generation X and Millennial are the correct fit for their place in the world.[2][9][10]

Duke University is famous for its science and engineering programs, as well as its dominance in college basketball.

Now, it may also become known as a great place for men to gather and contemplate why they’re such horrible people.

The Duke Men’s Project, launched this month and hosted by the campus Women’s Center, offers a nine-week program for “male-identified” students that discusses male privilege, patriarchy, “the language of dominance,” rape culture, pornography, machismo and other topics.

The student newspaper’s editorial board endorsed the new program yesterday, insisting it was “not a reeducation camp being administered by an oppressed group in the service of the feminization of American society.”

But it’s easy to see why they felt the need to defend against such concerns.

Junior Dipro Bhowmik, who sits on the leadership team, recently said the goal of the Duke Men’s Project is for male students to “critique and analyze their own masculinity and toxic masculinities to create healthier ones.”

Alex Bressler, another junior on the leadership team, said the program would help men “proactively deconstruct our masculinity.”

Duke’s new program is patterned off of a similar one at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where participants are asked to contemplate how masculinity plays a harmful influence in lives.
