So respect for the song only matters in public?

When will "Amazing Grace" be denounced as the song of a slave trader!

I edited it. He was the captain of slave ships. Yes, I know he found Jesus and wrote about abolishing slavery after his conversion. Still, the fact remains that a man that used to trade slaves wrote the song.

I think it was more the "Amazon Grace" than the slave trader vs. slave owner thing that might raise some eyebrows. ;)

:tothehand: I was referring to it's original title.

Good catch. I'm just pointing out some stupidity in what people decide is offensive based on it's content or creator.

CK can sit or kneel during the national anthem all he wants, that's his right.

As for me, I will continue to boo, Hiss and judge him for it...as is my right.

I wonder if the white officers that were targeted, shot and killed by black snipers are also represented in his protest............I doubt it.

LANDOVER, Md. - Every member of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Washington Redskins stood for Monday night's National Anthem in Landover, MD.

They took their stand one step further and held the giant American flag alongside members of the United States military during the singing of the National Anthem at FedEx field.
