Never had the issue at QB AFAIK, but we did cut a standout WR for rules violations a couple of years back.

Good for the Citadel for doing the right thing even if it hurts the team.

Aren't you using the term "Star" a bit loosely here..?
Wentz was the last thing closest to a "star" quarterback we've seen at our level

frankly even with the starter this game worried me- now I only give us 50/50 odds of winning. The backup is a redshirt freshman
and yes- STAR
he is pretty much the #1 rushing QB in FCS with a SEC win under his belt
who the hell is a wentz anyway?

Who is Wentz? He was only the #2 overall NFL draft pick bud. Rarely is any FCS player a "star". Steve McNair was. Wentz was. Can't remember many more.CID1990 wrote:They were just a few points away from SoCon runner up last yearChizzang wrote:

As for the OP yes we'd suspend ours if he broke rules. Done it before.

McNeese's QB could murder 5 babies and JSO wouldn't want him suspended.

Anyway. Could be worse...QB is only out 1 game. Remember when Citadel QB (a great one too) robbed his coach haha?

Re: Would you suspend your star QB for the season opener?
Flacco became a star. I meant being seen as a "star" while still playing FCS. I honestly don't recall Flacco being seen as that. McNair and Wentz got the hype while playing FCS. Maybe Adrien Peterson while at Georgia Southern or the App State QB (damn brain fart what was his name) after the Michigan game exposure. To be a "star" you kinda need some regular attention from National media.89Hen wrote:bucs90 wrote:Who is Wentz? He was only the #2 overall NFL draft pick bud. Rarely is any FCS player a "star". Re: Would you suspend your star QB for the season opener?
Wentz really didn't get much hype until his college career was basically over (Senior Bowl) and was heading into the draft. Flacco was a first round draft pick bucs, after leading his team to the NC. He was as much a star as Wentz.bucs90 wrote:Flacco became a star. I meant being seen as a "star" while still playing FCS. I honestly don't recall Flacco being seen as that. ESPN didn't masturbate to Flacco nearly as much as they have to Wentz89Hen wrote:Wentz really didn't get much hype until his college career was basically over (Senior Bowl) and was heading into the draft.
