At this point, who cares that the house was originally built by slaves? I don't hear them bitching about rail-lines that were originally built with slave labor...wait those weren't slaves of African descent. Or roads. Or canals. Or bridges. Or countless other buildings.

There has only been one White House. It was badly damaged by the British in 1814... and, they considered starting over from scratch. But, they continued with the same building.

And then it was completely gutted during the Truman administration. You can't find one original brick, beam or floorboard from the original White House. All of it has been replaced over the years.
