It's starting to be real interesting how much the GOP followers are starting to show their true colors throughout all of this.

Smh...when I was growing up I was lead to believe that the GOP was the party of America first, we the people, fight for what you want in life.

But now they're starting to take on an image of if this were the 1770s, they would be the party of loyalists to the crown...smdh

You do realize Trump has the most support of any Republican in a primary ever, right? Just checking.

It is, as someone else just wrote, the percentages. There has been a lot of turnout in the Republican primaries this year. And it's because of Trump. But more people have turned out to vote against Trump than for him. Not in this most recent set of eastern primaries. But overall.

By my recollection from seeing it on TV, the figures in the exit polls for the three States in which they did April 26 exit polls on the question of "would never vote for Trump" in the general election among Republican primary voters were 22, 26, and 28 percent. And that's in States where Trump did WAY better than he's done in most primaries. That is a lot. If you don't think there will be a serious problem with people who normally vote Republican refusing to vote for Trump you are kidding yourself.

Again, if Trump is such a loser then why aren't your Republicans voting for someone else? For that matter, why do they ignore their best candidate, Kasich?

You know, you ask me a question and I answer it. You seem to avoid this. You go into such great detail on stats and numbers and all that crap but you fail to explain why, if your analysis is correct, refuses to vote for the better candidate.

Trump started to sow the seeds for it Tuesday night.

Sanders sort of sounded like Trump today in Oregon, talking about the bad trade agreements that the US has with other countries.

More and more of Sanders rhetoric has become less focused on Clinton and more on the Democratic Party itself. Wouldn't it be interesting if Sanders goes into Philadelphia with say 1400-1500 delegates or so, releases them to Clinton and announces his intention to go third party "to give a voice to the millions who supported and donated to him in the primaries".

I did answer that question earlier. And the answer is that most Republicans HAVE voted for somebody else. It's common knowledge that Trump has benefitted from having the opposition to him divided. A January poll showed that Trump led Cruz by 33 to 20 percent with all of the candidates in the race at that time as options. But if asked who they would vote for if Trump and Cruz were the only alternatives Cruz topped Trump by 51 to 43 percent (http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/t ... ll-n496711).

A March poll Trump led Cruz by 34 to 25 percent with all candidates as options. But if asked to pick just between Trump and Cruz one on one respondents favored Cruz by 54 percent to 41 percent (http://www.langerresearch.com/wp-conten ... maries.pdf).

I can't find a head to head poll later than that one in March. And it's possible that things have changed some due to a "bandwagon effect." And it's national polls. Recent primaries have been in States favorable to Trump. But the point is that when that poll in March was taken Trump had already built a big lead over a candidate he would have been losing to if they had been facing off one on one due to benefitting from the divided opposition to him.

Trump is already over 9 million. The most ever was Dubya with 10.8. Trump is going to pass that easily.

And that was with a massive field of candidates.

If the Rs are smart...they allow Trump to triumph and ride his wave of voters. Otherwise, uber-conservative Republicans will be committing suicide (which wouldn't be bad if it were contained to the right wing religious nut jobs and the Wall Street crooks) and the party will fade away on the national scene.

Again: A substantial majority of people who have voted in Republican primaries have NOT voted for Trump. At this point 61%.

Besides, he could have the majority of the popular vote and still have a problem with people who did not vote for him in the primaries not wanting to vote for him in the general election either. Like there's no question that he was favored by the majority of Republican voters in the Pennsylvania Republican primary. But it's still the case that the exit polls suggest that, essentially, the only voters that felt certain they'd vote for Trump in the general election were those that voted for him in the primary. There was no "rally behind the nominee" sentiment associated with those who did not. In fact, more than half of them said they definitely will NOT vote for Trump if he's the nominee.

Getting Bobby Knight to endorse you in Indiana is just pure brilliance. And then getting Boehner to call Cruz "Lucifer in the flesh" right after he announces his veep candidate is icing on that cake.

Trump is absolutely brilliant at controlling the news cycle; just another skill that will make him a great President.

American has needed a leader for a very long time now and it's finally going to get one.
