I've seen some great names the last few years. One of my favorites was from Southern Utah, dudes name was Truck Dye. If you have a few that you'd like to nominate and then have us vote on it then let's do it in two groups:
Toughest Sounding Name
Funniest Name
Make a nomination for each category and make it a current player for an FCS team. The winner of each bracket will compete for the Best FCS name this year.
I doubt I'll have much time to do tallies but we could take the top 8 from each side and run a bracket like OB used to do for the Greatest of all time threads. Maybe it's a way to get OB55 out of retirement or get Wedgie or dback to run the polls. I won't have time to run it but if I don't put the idea up here now I'm gonna forget about it.
Best name I ever saw even though it wasn't a FCS player, was a guy named G. Aycock. He had a brother on the team so they put his first initial. Played for Texas Tech. The fans never left that guy alone.

Doesn't have to be just from GSU btk because there are a lot of schools not rep'd on the board and it also doesn't have to be a funny name. You gotta have someone with a tough sounding name.

I'm too lazy to go looking at other teams rosters. I think you confuse me with the folks that vote in polls.

couple of humorous ones...
Jeremiah Wurzbacher get a second for funny name. Doesn't look like this one's gonna be a hit and get off the ground. Guess we'll see if there's any interest in it on Monday.
Gonna need some help there man cuz I'm gonna be out it the field most of the week and only in the office for short spurts until the evenings. I am the reason that Missoula is known as the Garden City after all and I need to help others here use water on their yards in the most efficient ways I can. In other words...I've got some sprinkler systems to install.

Buddy Bardenwerper - Harvard (RB)
Harry Flaherty - Princeton (TE)
Buddy Farnham - Brown (WR)
Eddie Tabasky - Dartmouth (C)
OMG! That's awesome Mountaineer! I'm the only one that's seconded anything so far but I'm definately on this Eddy Tabasky bandwagon. That's gotta be the #1 seed if this tournament goes anywhere. I'll predict right now that ET will be the 2009 FCSFANS.COM "Best FCS Name" Champion.
If this thing gets going then we need to make the winner a shirt commemorating his good name and some of us could make a donation in his honor to his schools Athletic Dept. or something like that. $100-250 or whatever we could scrape up would be cool. The poster that nominates the winner will get some swag as well that we will have to figure out if anybody is into this idea.
