Yeah, I give us maybe a 10% chance of beating NDSU in Fargo. Maybe less.
I don't know what UNI is looking like this year, but I give us a decent shot to beat them in Cheney.
I also think the offense will be good enough to win quite a few Big Sky games.
NAU is an absolute crucial game for us assuming we start out 1-2. Case Cookus and Emmanuel Butler are back and I think they return a young rb who was pretty good and couple of defensive standouts as well. Plus the WSD is a tough place to win. After that, we get a little breather.
Beat the Jacks and manage a split between NDSU, UNI, Montana, and PSU and we'll be in good shape. Tall order though.

How crucial is NAU when you start out 0-3? There's a very high likelihood that come 10/29, EWU will be 3-4 when they face the Griz.
And bully to UNI for scheduling the only two real teams IN the BSC in the same year. Their schedule ain't no picnic either...

UNI hasn't lost a road OOC FCS game since 1997 (@ McNeese) and is 34-2 OOC vs the FCS in the regular season since that OOC loss to McNeese. The only two losses were home losses vs SFA in 04 and 10.
UNI's defense will give up yards to Kupp, it's impossible not too.
UNI's offense last year was a complete mess. It returns pretty much everything and will boast an improved passing game.
Can EWU's defense stop an offense that returns two 1,000 yard rushers and a QB that completes 60% of his passes and has spent an entire off season focusing only on improving, so much so that the coaches blow the play dead during practice any time he leaves the tackle box to force him to get better as passing?

I think UNI wins that one in a close game.
Well if he's spent an entire off season focusing only on improving than we are fucked!

Considering how just god awful he was last year and UNI managed to win, I'd say yes.

I KNOW. I wish our guys would do that. Fucking lazy bastards.

Well we only lost by 3 on the road to you with a pick 6 late. Our QB's have spent the entire off season focusing on only not throwing late pick 6's and our defense has been focusing only on stopping the run and improving QB's. So...

BOOM!
You're defense has a fuck of a lot further to go than UNI's QB

The good news is that almost all of the kids playing on defense last year were Freshmen or Sophomores playing in a new system. It's going to be a better group collectively. I think the bigger concern is how fast our Offensive Line comes along. It'll be all new starters across the board, and a few of those guys redshirted last year...so. Fantastic size, though. Guess we'll see. We don't lose a lot at home.

Yep. I think NAU is well positioned to make a conference title this year. They've got the best QB in the league.

All new front 5 with the way UNI and NDSU get into the backfield? Oh really
