I saw an interesting spin on Anderson Cooper. They showed results of exit polls from three States. I think they were Connecticut, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. They showed that among Republican voters 50-something percent in each State said they would definitely vote for Trump in the general election while 22 through 28 percent said they definitely would not vote for Trump in the general election if he is the nominee.

And they spun that as good for Trump...as meaning Republicans are coming around to supporting him. They spun it that way even though the guy reporting the results said it didn't show change from previous polls of this type.

The way I look at it, those numbers would translate into something on the order of 40 to 60 percent of people who voted in the Republican primary and who did NOT vote for Trump saying there is no way they will vote for him in the general election. I'm not seeing that as a positive sign since the majority of the people who have voted in Republican primaries have not voted for Trump AND we're talking about three States that are relatively favorable to him.

Looks like Trump is pulling in 55-65% in just about every one of the five states tonight.

Talk about an ass whipping.

Cruz finishing behind Kasich as well. People just hate the guy.

No. Cruz, while not ideal, is an adult who has some understanding of what's going on. Trump is not. Trump is a complete buffoon and anybody who supports him diminishes themselves.

Cruz flirting with not meeting the 10% threshold to get any delegates in Rhode Island.

What an embarrassing performance.

I think you know better than that. I think it all comes down to you being concerned that Cruz would threaten your career.

Pastor Ted
Seriously, why ISN'T this man a preacher...that's his true calling.

Gotta love his condescending and holier than thou tone in his speech.

Nice to hear from a Presidential candidate that an entire region of the country (Northeast and The mid-Atlantic) "doesn't really matter because we aren't "true conservative".

Cruz is just a slimy, creepy human being. That's my biggest concern with him.

Seriously, if he was in my high school he'd have been beaten up with some regularity just out of general principle.

You say that while you're apparently happy with TRUMP winning the primaries today? That makes no sense at all. You can't get any slimier or creepier than Trump is.

What you don't understand is there are a significant amount of conservatives who are fed up with the "values" candidates. They also realize that the Republican Party is equally full of shit when it comes to being fiscally conservative and against crony capitalism (where does Cruz's wife work again? )

They have nowhere to go except....Trump!

Cruz is one of the major reasons why Trump has done as well as he has for the past year - Cruz is basically the other guy in the Republican primary and, when you see them side by side, Cruz is so unlikeable and so unelectable that Trump starts to look good by default. Cruz is essentially unelectable in the vast majority of the country. I think Trump is a buffoon in many ways, but he's proven to be a far more electable candidate than Cruz has been. People just don't like Cruz - he's creepy.

I agree with this. The social issues matter less and less to the majority of Republicans while a smaller and smaller minority cling even more fervently to what's now orthodoxy. The GOP's been running great in local elections but they don't have a message that resonates any longer on a national election, and in that vacuum comes Trump.

Again, I find it amazing that Trump does these press conferences at his victory speeches. And he's on to something, it's far more interesting to watch him do these victory press conferences than it is to watch people reiterate their stump speeches in the normal victory speech method of speaking in front of rallies. That's Trump's strength, no matter how much of a buffoon he is, people watch him. He's a well honed reality tv candidate and it shows.

Can you imagine any other candidate saying "I just won so and so state, now that I'm done talking, go ahead and let's do 20-30 minutes of you guys asking anything and everything you want"? And not only does he do it, but he avoids making any serious gaffes. Of course, he does most of it by ignoring the questions or jumping in and interrupting the question, but you know, on tv the way he does it is just must watch tv, and really, that's what matters. I haven't seen Cruz's face on tv for a good hour now, and it's good, because he's al kinds of creepy.

Btw, Anderson Cooper just agreed with me regarding the uniqueness of Trump's stand up act rather than doing a teleprompter speech. Anderson Cooper is turning into a Trump fan.

Yup. And I'm very curious to see how this plays out in the general. There's a chance of Hillary/establishment fatigue and that might find her as uninteresting as Jeb or Cruz.
