Jelly, regardless of my feelings towards something, the beauty of this country is that you can say something and you, generally, don't need to fear reprisals. It's different when you're a public figure but its great. You want to say something, you better be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Rightly or wrongly, the boycott of the Dixie Chicks destroyed their careers, at least in that incarnation. I don't know if any of them were able to get successful solo work. Everything they tried as a band after their incident flopped miserably.
