He's an old spinster schoolmarm -- the Church Lady of the GOP.

That's some nice work their, IT.

Still, like I called it last summer, Kasich is the most reasonable candidate you conks have. Most electable too.
No, he's not the most reasonable.

Kasich's people were saying last night that Cruz had to win Utah by 50% or more. "We must deny Trump delegates."

So, you have a guy that is not pulling any votes with his own party's voters, asking the party to take part in a plan to deny the party's most popular candidate the nomination. For what? So a third place, really 4th place, establishment guy can take the nomination from the person who is winning the vote? :suspicious:

The Republican party will be destroyed.

THAT is reasonable?

GTFOOH.

Jeb! endorses Rafael!

Jeb Bush endorsed Ted Cruz on Wednesday morning, calling his former rival for the Republican presidential nomination a "principled conservative" and urging fellow Republicans to reject Donald Trump as the next GOP nominee.

There is a time to play offense and a time to play defense. When there are only two candidates that have any shot at winning the election, and when you don't like either one, it's time to play defense and vote for the one you dislike the least.

I'm all for other parties, but there is no reasonable shot for success at the top level. Third or fourth parties have to gain traction at the State level first.

So the former Governor of Florida endorses Ted Cruz, while the current governor of Florida endorses Donald Trump.

I'm going to get a HUGE bag of popcorn ready for GOP convention in a few months. Definitely must see TV. :thumb:

Hell even at the local levels first.

There's this fascination with "running for President" as a third party candidate that I've been pretty much convinced that 95% aren't serious candidates.

Clinton has no business running this country. I'd have to vote for the GOP candidate in this election.

I will. I'll always participate. But this is going to be a difficult decision. I certainly couldn't vote for Hillary. That would never be an option.

your vote means jack sh1t in SC

if a Democrat had a snowball's chance of carrying SC your vote would still be sh1t, because that would mean they are winning the other 49 anyway

BTW, as of now, the Real Clear Politics average of polls has Hillary Clinton up over Trump by 50.0% to 38.8% (+11.2) and Bernie Sanders up over Trump by 54.7% to 37.2% The trend for each match up has been towards widening gaps with Trump doing worse and worse against his potential general election opponents (see images below). I think the only shot Republicans have if Trump does get the nomination is for the Democrats to have Clinton indicted with the timing such that they can't really adjust and recover in time for the general election. That could happen. But I think that just about any candidate the Democrats run if they can get things in place will crush Trump. They could stick Biden in, for example, and HE would crush Trump because I don't think who it is matters much. There's a STRONG anti-Trump sentiment out there.

I agree there is a long way to go, but don't underestimate the donks using Trumps racist and xenophobic rhetoric to mobilize the minority vote. That alone will carry hilldog to the WH.

Oh I agree as a general principle but as I've said before Trump's background and record of statements is a target rich environment. And both candidates are very well known right now. It's not like when Clinton first started against H.W. Bush and he was one of the "seven dwarfs." The Democrats are "scientific" in their approach and they also don't have to worry about walking the thin line trying to beat Trump without alienating Trump supporters. They will feel free to demonize both Trump AND his supporters. I get a kick out of his bravado when he says he hasn't started on Hillary because it's also true that the Democrats haven't started on him either. And they're good.

There's also that thing about a lot of Republicans not liking Trump. I heard a guy on CNN tonight reference a poll in which 47% of Republican women said they would not vote for Trump under any circumstances. I've also heard several times tonight that 70 something percent of US women have an unfavorable opinion of him.

I've said from the point where he started looking like a threat in the Republican primaries that if he gets nominated he will get annihilated in the general election and I'm sticking to it. I really do think the only shot he's got if he's nominated is having Hillary get indicted with the timing working out so that the Democrats don't have time to adjust.

Another thing I thought about is Elizabeth Warren. They could stick her into the breech if they had time and she would absolutely kill him. He's that bad a general election candidate.

Just heard a CNN anchor say something that I think kind of hits on what we're dealing with in Trump. In referring to the Trump/Cruz wife thing he said, "Yes somehow we're talking about Presidential Politics, not 4th grade recess."

And that gets back to how childish Trump is. Just amazes me there ANYBODY supports him much less enough of Republican primary voters to put him into the position he's in right now. It's just ridiculous.

JSO makes a good point; I genuinely think the Trump supporters are underestimating how many people, especially Democrats, will go out to vote against Trump. And how many Republicans will stay home.

I don't mind though.

Incredibly, I don't mind either in this sense: I think people that would vote for somebody like Trump need to be taught a lesson.

BTW, in watching tonight I think Trump may have finally gone beyond the critical point with that thing where he did the side by side of his wife and Cruz's wife. Might not have done it in time to keep him from the Republican nomination. But he may be DOA as far as the general election goes. I'm seeing a lot more revulsion on that than I've seen with respect to any of the previous despicable things he's done and said.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Your shock about Trump shows your ignorance regarding how broken the system is. This didn't happen overnight.

If it's Trump vs. Clinton, I might cross over from Gary Johnson and vote for the Donald. Tell me again the lesson I will be taught?
