2016 Republican Primary
Re: 2016 Republican Primary
Trump leads Cruz, narrowly by 4% or so in NC.
Trump leads Cruz, with over 10% in Missery (Thanks Flaggy!)
Trump wins Florida.
Trump...Trump...Trump. He's your leader.

Delegate Count update:
Trump: 569
Cruz: 370
Rubio: 163: Dropped out.
Kasich: 63 (if he wins Ohio, it'll be 162)
Carson: 8 - Dropped out.
If you're Rubio, who do you ask your delegates to support? Cruz or Kasich? Probably Cruz.

Florida and Ohio are winner take all states with 99 and 66 delegates, respectively. We know Rubio and Kasich need to win their states, which if they do MAY stave off Trump from eventually winning the # of delegates he needs. Rubio trails Trump, 2-1 in Florida. Kasich may have a shot in Ohio, although he came in 3rd in Michigan which, demographically, is similar to Ohio. Cruz isn't leading in either state.
My Predicitions:
Florida - Trump
Illinois - Trump
Missouri - Trump
North Carolina - Trump
Ohio - Kasich

I saw FNC call that about a 1/2 hr ago with only 19% in. How in the world do they call a state with only 19% reporting?Ibanez wrote:Kasich wins Ohio.Ibanez wrote:Delegate Count update:

Re: 2016 Republican Primary
FNC is calling NC for Trump. 72 delegates are proportional. Looks like NC, MO, and IL could all go Trump, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio in that order.

I disagree with some of his basic outlooks but he is certainly a whole lot saner than Trump. Trump is a total basket case. MANY screws loose. Yet here we are contemplating him being the Republican nominee.∞∞∞ wrote:Listening to Kasich now. Sounds the sanest of any person on either side.
What's happening with the Republicans right now makes the Democrat Party decision to use this "Super Delegate" thing look better and better.
If I were the Republicans I'd make two rules if I could get away with it:
1) You have to be registered as a Republican one year before the primaries start in order to be able to vote in a Republican primary.
2) We're going to have "Super Delegates" like the Democrats do.

Dude is a complete fraud. He got angry earlier today when reporters asked him why he would not run his already planned attack ads against Trump in Ohio...didn't Ohio voters have a right to know about Kasich's coming change in his ad campaign? That is an honest question.
Kasich responded angrily that he'll run his campaign the way he wants and not how others want.
In other words, play nice guy and win in home state Ohio...and then smear Trump elsewhere.
Typical establishment clown...doing the campaign bidding of his masters (yeah, the way, "he" wants).
In the meantime, Obama is playing the race card, and the gender card, and the people with their own racist and gender agendas are following like the sheep they are (can't say lemmings anymore, can we).

I can't stand Trump either. If he wins, I will vote for Gary Johnson and mostly GOP down-ballot to try to hold Congress. What else can you do?

So can we safely assume most of Rubio's delegates will go to the last candidate facing Trump, probably being Cruz? He'll have some sway at the Convention.
Re: 2016 Republican Primary
Rubio's delegates are now unbound and can support whomever they choose. Also, with Rubio suspending his campaign rather than dropping out, he can still come back at the convention should The Donald not get the delegate majority required to win outright. If Rubio were to come back, he has the right to reclaim his delegates.∞∞∞ wrote:So can we safely assume most of Rubio's delegates will go to the last candidate facing Trump, probably being Cruz? Re: 2016 Republican Primary
I'm reading up a bit on poll statistics. I think one thing we haven't really been discussing, and maybe it's cause we're all pretty much males here, is how badly Trump is doing regarding the female population. Even I'm a bit stunned at the numbers, although I guess I shouldn't be since he's said some pretty sexist stuff.
Anyways, the latest article I read on the Christian Science Monitor says Trump has a 28% approval rating among GOP women...25% among the general electorate of women. That's pretty bad considering women make up more voters than men in the general election. But in this primary, more men have voted on the Republican side than women (which again, will not hold true in the general election).
