I doubt seriously that Kasich would even endorse Trump.

Agreed. Kasich is more savvy than that.

Florida and Ohio are winner take all states with 99 and 66 delegates, respectively. We know Rubio and Kasich need to win their states, which if they do MAY stave off Trump from eventually winning the # of delegates he needs. Rubio trails Trump, 2-1 in Florida. Kasich may have a shot in Ohio, although he came in 3rd in Michigan which, demographically, is similar to Ohio. Cruz isn't leading in either state.

My Predicitions:
Florida - Trump
Illinois - Trump
Missouri - Trump
North Carolina - Trump
Ohio - Kasich
I wonder if there's a possible Cruz upset in NC. Latest RCP average showed Trump ahead by just under 13%. Will late deciders in NC punish Trump for the weekend antics and Trump's onstage meltdown in St. Loo?

It will be close, I've seen a spread of 10-12% between the two.

Kasich has said on many occasions that he has no interest in being VP and wouldn't accept the offer.
Could be for the better - the demographics of that ticket wouldn't cut it in today's age.

And if that's true, there goes any last vestige of a chance of me voting for either Trump or Cruz. :ohno: :ohno: Because that was the ONLY way I was going to plug my nose and do it....if there was an actual adult in the room with either of those two.

Still time to hop on the Gary Johnson Express. I expect to vote Libertarian for US House in DE as well, and maybe Governor if the wacky Tea Party broad (not Christine O'Donnell, but another one) beats the "establishment" candidate in the GOP primary. The DE Libertarians had their convention in a phone booth downstate and picked candidates for Governor, Congress, and a couple of state rep districts.

Meanwhile Christie continues to be Trumps biatch:
COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 15 (UPI) -- Republican front-runner Donald Trump mocked his new friend New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to make a point about Ohio Gov. John Kasich's absentee governorship.

During Monday's Trump rally at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna, Ohio, Trump poked fun at Christie while he criticized Kasich for spending more time in New Hampshire than in Ohio.

"Your governor is absentee," Trump said. "Your governor Kasich, if you look at him, and I'm being totally impartial, he goes to New Hampshire. He's living in New Hampshire. Living. Where's Chris? Is Chris around? Even more than Chris Christie, he was there."

"Right? Even more," Trump said as he pointed off-stage. "I hated to do that but I had to make my point."

Yes, Open. No on Bernie. Played it straight (no homo). Went with Kasich. Missouri is not a winner take all state so I feel my vote counted for something.

But damn, that sub was good. Told them that I grew up 10 miles from where Jersey Mike's was founded. They gave me a card for free chips and a drink next time. #WINNING

Obama today:

".....dismayed by "vulgar and divisive rhetoric" directed at women and minorities as well as the violence that has occurred in the 2016 presidential campaign, a swipe at Republican front-runner Donald Trump that also served as a challenge to other political leaders to speak out and set a better example.

"The longer that we allow the political rhetoric of late to continue and the longer that we tacitly accept it, we create a permission structure that allows the animosity in one corner of our politics to infect our broader society. And animosity breeds animosity.".....

.....Obama pleaded for civility and said political leaders can either condone "this race to the bottom" or reject it.

"We have heard vulgar and divisive rhetoric aimed at women and minorities, and Americans that don't look like us or pray like us or vote like we do," Obama said at the annual Friends of Ireland luncheon.....

....Obama said that while some may bear more of the blame for the ugly political climate, everyone bears responsibility for reversing it.

"It is a cycle that is not an accurate reflection of America. It has to stop," Obama said. "And I say that not as a matter of political correctness, it's about the way that corrosive behavior can undermine our democracy and our society and even our economy."

The president reminded the audience of Republicans and Democrats, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., that the world is watching the U.S. candidates and what they say.

"In America there aren't laws that say we have to be nice to each other. ... But there are norms, there are customs, there are values that our parents taught us and that we try to teach to our children," the president said.

He said people should not be afraid to take their children to a debate or a rally....."
