Most normal people would be outraged that a potential leader of our country is willfully lying to the public in order to gain power.

But, I guess that stuff is now considered business as normal on Team Brown?

I want Trump and Bernie to win their side of the primaries. Somehow we have to break down the "normalcy" of our country's politics being run by insider shytheads. Indeed, I'll take four years of a whacky President (Bernie or Trump) if it dislodges the existing dysfunctional political sham of a system we have now, and otherwise will have forever.

We need at least a viable third party...and perhaps a Trump/Bernie win would shatter the middle of each of our two parties and release them from being held hostage by the political extremism we see from both side these days.

Go Trump-Bernie!

Seems like its would greatly diminish the clout both the RNC and the DNC. :thumb:

No, it’s honestly really, really dishonest. And I think I know why. You know why? Because he was born in Canada.

If you're interested, you can read this article by an author who agrees with me:

BTW, you're right that I can't quantitatively prove that Trump has the emotional maturity a 12 year old. I just thought it is so obvious that nobody would disagree with me on that.

From that linked article:
The Cruz Press Release Stole Votes From Ben Carson. Fact: the Ben Carson campaign suspension rumor came from CNN, and that rumor originated with the Carson campaign. Trevor Loudon puts together the full timeline here, but here’s a brief summary: CNN reported at approximately 4:45 PM ET that Carson was going home to Florida after Iowa. Rep. Steve King (R-IA), a Cruz supporter, tweeted what everyone in the political world was thinking: “Carson looks like he is out. Iowans need to know before they vote. Most will go to Cruz, I hope.” At 5:08 PM ET CNN itself tweeted, “After the #IAcaucus, @RealBenCarson plans to take a break from campaigning.” A Cruz staffer then told precinct captains, “Breaking News. The press is reporting that Dr. Ben Carson is taking time off from the campaign trail after Iowa and making a big announcement next week. Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted Cruz.” Apparently, Rubio also “pushed the narrative hard” that Carson was dumping out of the race, according to a tweet from Conrad Close, who identifies as a Rubio supporter. Cruz has apologized for the screw-up:
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

A picture from the 80's and a People quote. We're progressing from Rolling Stone, I suppose.

Again, thank you for pointing out that Trump was correct. :thumb:

If you look at the post just before the one of yours I just quoted you will see that it was not false information in terms of what the press was reporting. I'm talking about the part the poster just before you bolded. The staffer simply accurately related what the press was reporting and said to urge people to vote for Cruz.

The press didn't report that he was quitting the race.

kalm wrote:The press didn't report that he was quitting the race.
And the language I referenced as the bolded language in a post does not refer to quitting the race. Here it is:
A Cruz staffer then told precinct captains, “Breaking News. The press is reporting that Dr. Ben Carson is taking time off from the campaign trail after Iowa and making a big announcement next week.
The press reported that Carson was taking time off the campaign trail and that's what the staffer said. A lot of people, including a bunch of people in the media, interpreted Carson saying he was going to do that as meaning he was getting out of the race. People jumped to conclusions. Cruz people apparently jumped to conclusions. But the Statement about Ben Carson taking time off the campaign trail and about the press reporting that was a true statement. It was not a lie. Also it was not unusual or unreasonable for people to think it probably meant Carson was getting out.

In any case, as is is wont, Trump ended up responding to it with the kind of behavior you would expect out of a middle school kid. That people can seriously support someone that displays the obviously problematic behavior he displays continues to baffle me. He comes off as being downright unstable.

I don't see anything in the quote I was referring to that changes anything. The quote simply relays what the press was reporting. As far as I can tell Carson's actions were widely interpreted by a lot of people to suggest he was quitting the race. But I don't see anything in the quote I referenced directly saying he was quitting the race. They just relayed commonly available information that was reflecting behavior indicating that. Notice that there's a statement in the post I quoted saying Rubio's people did the same thing.

Besides, the point is Trumps response. He acts like a little kid. The fact that a lot of people want that guy to be President is disturbing.

You mean alleging that it was lost because of that. He has no idea as to whether he'd have won if none of that would ever have happened. In fact, if I had to bet, I'd bet he would not have. He was just throwing a tantrum.
