Too late.ASUG8 wrote:As I understand it here in SC, they do a background check but never tie the gun itself to you, i.e. it gets stolen and used in a crime you aren't on the hook. I agree it's none of the governments' business how many I own, and I doubt they could know anyway. I have two handguns, but I've cycled through and traded probably 7-8 in order to settle on these I currently own.AZGrizFan wrote:Whatever the percentage that do NOT support additional background checks, count me FIRMLY in that camp. None if the government's **** business what or how many I own.
Not to be all spandos, but I could see the government limiting an individual's ability to buy with a "mental health" screen, i.e. if you ever had a scrip for antidepressants or anti-anxiety meds in your past you could be disqualified.

Second grade called, they'd like their schtick back.houndawg wrote:Too late.ASUG8 wrote:

If the gubmint wanted to take away guns from conservatives they would simply make an IQ test mandatory.

I think they'd like this whole site back.ASUG8 wrote:Second grade called, they'd like their schtick back.houndawg wrote:

Don't fool yourself, this site is far too lowbrow for most second graders.Grizalltheway wrote:I think they'd like this whole site back.ASUG8 wrote:

Obama Touted Use Of ‘Smart Guns’ During Town Hall, He’s Top Recipient Of ‘Smart Gun’ Cash
President Obama went out of his way to talk about ‘smart gun’ technology during his ‘gun control’ town hall last night. Gee, I wonder why?
Via Free Beacon:
President Obama is the top recipient in campaign cash from the “smart gun” manufacturing industry, which stands to benefit from his executive action calling for more research into the technology.

I'll admit I watched maybe 30 minutes of the whole dog & pony show last night but the best question or point I heard was from the guy with Gabby Giffords asking how if conspiracy theorists were correct & the government wanted to actually confiscate them in the future how the hell could they?houndawg wrote:BDKJMU wrote:The question is, why does Obama want more Americans buying more guns?
Wrong question. The question is why we think that control of 300,000,000 guns is even possible. The barn door is open and the horse long gone. Empty every Krispy Kreme in the nation of cops and put them to work doing nothing but taking guns and they wouldn't make even a small dent.
I like you too much to destroy your post. You are a bit naive on guns. That's all I'll say.bluehenbillk wrote:I'll admit I watched maybe 30 minutes of the whole dog & pony show last night but the best question or point I heard was from the guy with Gabby Giffords asking how if conspiracy theorists were correct & the government wanted to actually confiscate them in the future how the hell could they?houndawg wrote:

I'll disagree with 93's earlier post - I think the priest from Chicago with the registry was a good idea - you can title cars & we're not taking them away right?
Finally, the #1 reason Americans say they own guns (for individual protection) I think is a faulty premise to begin with. Here's why: Where do you keep your gun(s) at home that are for your individual protection - especially if you have a family, I'm going to assume they're locked up aren't they? So, if there was an intruder in the house, what % of these gun owners would even be in a position to use/get to them? The answer isn't very high...
Move along...gun debate is like religion & abortion, you can say whatever you want but it ain't gonna change anybody's minds....

I don't have a gun, but I do have an old 4-iron. It's a little bent at the hosel but I can still hit it 210 yards.BDKJMU wrote:Me too.AZGrizFan wrote:

I would have to guess that very many would be the same, but very many would not. Cops showed up to my next door neighbors house years ago. He had a pistol stolen from the door compartment of his pick-up. I guess he felt he needed to report it in case the gun was used in a crime.BDKJMU wrote:Me too.AZGrizFan wrote:

So the fact that I used to be a golf professional, if I used a golf club in a fight would I be punished more severely, like a professional boxer in a fist fight?CAA Flagship wrote:I don't have a gun, but I do have an old 4-iron. It's a little bent at the hosel but I can still hit it 210 yards.
