Bottom line is that, whatever "liberal" technically means, we all know that "liberals" as that term is perceived in today's context do not believe in freedom at all. They believe in extremely overwhelming government control. They do not believe in free thought. They do not believe in the free exchange of ideas. They believe in freedom to think in a way that is not offensive to "liberal" ideology. They also do not believe in freedom of behavior.

They believe in a very strong central government that is going to make very sure that people are not allowed to deviate too far from "liberal" orthodoxy. They believe in a LOT of control over what people think and how people behave.

And what I'm talking about is in general. Yes, I'm sure you could find some individual "liberals" who don't fit that description. But the general impetus of "liberalism" is thought control and behavior control. It's all about forcing people to think and do as "liberals" would have them think and do.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Of course if a state passes a silly gun law, restricts abortions after 20 weeks of gestation, adopts common core, gives in-state tuition to illegals, many tend to forget those principles pretty quickly.

Example: Some liberal people I know want the feds more involved in higher education. Those exact same people are going to pitch a conniption fit when higher ed gets no-child-left-behind-ized and the DoE or whoever is telling faculty what to teach how many hours they have to each each semester.
I know quite a few liberals and many teachers and profs, and I can't think of a single one who at this point would say "I think the feds need to be more involved".

You have to be kidding, right? :suspicious:

The UD professors in my neighborhood ALL want to gubmint to bring in more refugees. They ALL want the gubmint to spread the wealth more. They ALL want a federalized health care system. They ALL want the federal government to institute programs for the poor if states don't want to get involved.

In other words, they want the government to support their Group Think (their's not other's)...and they want to tax people so that the federal gubmint can do things that they want, especially when they get resistance from states.

In fact, taking it further, the university professors ALL want the state to spend more money on education for the poor over the objections of the local school districts and taxpayers.

There is a VERY consistent mind set among the university and Liberal community here that if a small group (city, district, county, state) doesn't want to do something that they think is the right thing to do, then a bigger entity should intervene and get it done. :ohno:

These professors and Liberals in Delaware believe they are more enlightened, and when faced with a local decision that isn't in agreement, then they sidestep the "small minded" folks.

It really is scary how much they don't like local power...and they will use the power of the Feds to get their results.
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?
