Hey, enough ragging on the Grizzlies for playing eight home games each season. It ain't just all the bank they make at WA/Griz – just think of all the money Montana's athletic department saves each year on Dramamine and maps...

Seriously, if the athletic department ever auctions off any game-worn Griz road unis, I want one. It would be a neat collectors item of sorts, quite a rare piece of elusive memorabilia, and a good value as well, since I'll know for certain that the sumbitch hasn't been worn more than once.

I know you Montana fans can be sensitive about this topic but I was being pragmatic not critical of the Griz. I agree with AZ and BH86 on the economics. If the Griz have a contract to play Team A at Team A's stadium with a cancellation clause calling for them to pay X dollars and they can get Team B to play at WaGriz for 2 or 3 times X they would be crazy not to cancel on Team A. And they aren't breaking the contract, they are exercising a clause included in the contract that allows them to get out of it. If Team A is smart, they get the home game first or make sure that the buy-out nets them a nice pay day. Just makes good business sense.

Now toughen up comrade! :D
88, it gets old hearing the same **** over and over and over. Especially when a guy like you (respectable) starts jumping in with that ****. You've probably never seen me throw the shot about UNI because it's a non issue when someone gets a better deal but what I'm vocalizing about is that some that take these shots actually need to get a little bit tougher. You're not hurting any feelings and if you would like to think it's a sensitivity issue then that's cool with me. I do hope you realize that when you take a swipe at someone you will have to be able to take a shot or two yourself. If swinging back brands Montana fans as sensitive about it then so be it.

You took a smack shot to get a desired effect, I took one back, it's a simple system. I hope that's toughened up enough for ya. :P

OH and on the comment above you quoted, yes of course I said that and meant it. I didn't mean that a guy should sit there and take it like a pussy though.
Ursus, I wasn't taking a serious shot at you or Montana. I apologize if it came across as the same shit because that wasn't my intention. I was having a little fun but my smack was lighthearted and intended more for those that whine about Montana's scheduling.

I don't have a problem with what the Griz have done. They've made the decisions that they felt were the best for the program and the entire athletic department. If other schools don't like it or don't want to be stuck in that situation then they should follow my advice and either get the first game at home or make sure the buyout is high enough that they can smile on their way to the bank.

Peace buddy!

You've got more what? You need to deliver something for me to be interested in more. I'd like to say you need a little help form Appaholic on this one but the statement was so similar to his usual palaver that I couldn't believe it was your avatar next to it. I'm glad you showed up for the Griz pile on and all Bench but that one is pretty hard to read and not be embarrassed for you. 88, I know that you were just taking a little jab. I didn't take it as anything more than that, seriously. I love the smack threads because they bring the most fun...even when they don't start out as smack threads or even about Montana for that matter. If a thread was titled "Wish me luck, my liver transplant is scheduled for this Thursday" it would take about three post before the it was a smack thread about Montana since it has the word schedule in the title.

When Montana is getting heaped on I like it because I can either read it and sit back and have a chuckle or get into "battle mode" and swing wildly at everyone (even Griz fans). You made an innocuous post that followed many dumb ass posts by a Weber fan so I just kept swinging.

Now let's not turn this into a love fest 88. You picked a side and I must fight you to death of this thread...actually I'm kind of tired of it also.

No offense taken and so forth, none intended.

Grizza, you need to let this go. 89 has already admitted to being a douche and the reality is that we're all douches to some extent.

When I went back to AGS to look around a month or so ago, I seem to remember 89 speaking up against the amount of moderation. Maybe he isn't as bad a guy as you think he is. A number of people listed him as someone they would like to have posting over here more often and this was in spite of his occasional drive by smacking.

Ok you want to know why montana has to play who we do??? i will show you, you eastern biast jerks. 19 schools out of 126 fcs team that i can think of are in the west....that leaves 18 teams to play within half the USA....... and that leaves any eastern team 106 other eastern teams that are in the east half of the USA..

19 vs 106 big difference. your teams dont consistantly travel half way cross the nation....so why should ours? they shouldnt so we play home games and make money instead of losing money going taking kids out of class to travel cross country.

If that is the case why dont you guys try playing teams like oregon, oregon state and utah? I personally think seeing montana maroon in rice eccles stadium would be awsome!
We don't need any other excuse tbird because it is THE REASON plain and simple. I'll ask it once more time for ya...why would you go away from home and play for less money than you can make at a home game. I am sure Oregon State is not afraid to play us but we layed a pretty good ass whoopin' on them the last time we were down there so why would they want us back? We just played Oregon a few years back and then Iowa the year after that. It's only been the last couple of years that we don't have to go to another venue for the money. Can you actually say that in your personal life you would take a job on the road to make less money if you had the opportunity to stay at home? It also doesn't do a thing for me as a fan in this dick measuring contest that some of you that are trying to prove yourselves are hung up on. I would rather go to the game and be able to watch it here. In other words it's good for the team, the fans, and the checkbook. I suppose the administration should start taking into account the views of ill informed casual observers in neighboring states. For the love of God tbird pull your head out of you ass. If an FBS team makes it worth our while I am damn sure that you will get your wish.

Wow, if thats the case, Montana should be an Independant so they can play all their games at home, cause Im sure they would if they could.

If your team wins then its more than worth it, just ask Cal Poly or App St fans. Let me ask this question, What would UM fans feel better about? a win vs Montana Western, or a win vs Wyoming? I guess it doesnt matter, as long as you get the big $$$$$$

You're too fucking stupid with this little brother shit Wildcat Ryan. Seriously man, try to put together a cogent argument on at least one thread...please. We should be independent because we try to maximize our situation as far as football goes. Guess we'll give up the conference affiliation that we built for all the other sports huh?

The thing that you just don't seem to get through your thick head is that UM fans would feel better about a win over a higher profile team. We don't need to ask other teams what to feel better about because we have enjoyed those wins. WE HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE in our lore. The fact that the administration makes decisions base on the athletic program as a whole and not just what the fans would feel better about is where you have the problem. You like to use the FBS games as a dick measuring tool, funny stuff. Good for you.

I just LOVE how these teams with ZERO attendance justify their body-bag games....like it's a "bigger penis" competition.

You play them because you HAVE to. Plain and simple. We HAD to play Oregon and we HAD to play Iowa. Now we don't. Why is that so fricking hard to understand?

Jeezus Christ AZ how did you fall into that trap? You know damn good and well that Hogan is going to refresh your memory on the 19-17 loss at WGS that his team laid on us to keep us out of that NC. Then he's going to use your own argument against you by pointing out that we often point to other victories with our own conference mates and also defend them in every argument about SOS.
