Ok, good then, you can explain what I asserted was wrong.

Did Great Britain confiscate land from the Irish natives in Northern Ireland during the 1700s?
Did Great Britain then settle the confiscated lands with British citizens, so that they would constitute a a majority of the people living in Northern Ireland?
Did Great Britain then deny basic civil rights to the Irish, take their personal property, outlaw the saying of the Catholic Mass, and place the Irish into labor for the benefit of the new landowners?
During the 1800s, during the famine, did the British export food from Ireland, while the Irish starved?
Was the Irish civil rights movement in the late 60s in Northern Ireland originally non-violent?
Did Ian Paisley form the Ulster Defence Committee and commence attacks on Irish civilians?
Did the Provisional IRA form thereafter?
Do you agree with the assessment of the wiki article that the Troubles in Ireland were never really religiously based, but were political in nature?

If you're not willing to respond, and you just want to say you know better because "I'm Irish Catholic by birth, and some of my family participated," then I just think you're full of shit, jumped in based on beliefs formed on misinformation skillfully planted by the British, and are now trying to save face without really engaging what I've said.

Because I am half-Irish, the son of a first-generation Irish American. My grandmother was 100% Irish, born in Ireland, which makes me eligible for an Irish passport. I've never known any Irish person who would tell the story any other way. I have visited my mother's family remaining in Cork, and let me tell you, they still HATE the British with a passion.

Walk into a pub in Killarney late at night, and you will still hear the anti-Brit anthems being sung. And they don't call them the "Brits." They call them the "F'ing Brits."

I don't understand your point on someone that is attacking a clinic, (driven be religious/political motives) to instill destruction and fear, isn't a terrorist. Was Eric Rudolph not a terrorist? It's seems pretty simple. He's a murderer. He is a terrorist based off his actions.
He is a murderer. He isn't a terrorist. What Eric Rudolph did...what this guy did...doesn't instill "terror" in the general population. Every mass murderer is not a terrorist.

Christ, we can't get our President to call ACTUAL terrorists, terrorists.

Originally from Kildare, but many relocated to Cork to get away from the British control that was particularly monstrous in the northern counties.

My grandmother and grandfather left Kildare for the US, with their families in the early 20th century, to escape the British, prior to the 1921 establishment of the Republic of Ireland. Their families were close, and they re-located together. My grandparents knew each other since they were small.

In order to support the family, my grandfather took a job in the coal mining region of Northeast PA as a young boy (originally as a breaker boy). He worked in the mines the rest of his short life. He died at 35 in 1935, from black lung, leaving my grandmother with four daughters. One of her daughters died in a tragic accident six months later.

My grandmother never forgave the F'ing Brits for what they did to my grandfather, believing that they were responsible for driving them from their homeland, and placing my grandfather into the position of taking a job that would ultimately cost him his life. She was a proper, refined woman, only prone to vulgar expression when discussing the Brits.

My neighbor sounds like this guy. All kinds of crap and vehicles in the back yard. Recent verbal abuse appearance in court. He's around 40, but who knows when he'll flip out. Time to move, hopefully in the Spring.

Celts describes a wide swath of people.

The Celts of Scotland who came into contact with the Norse were mostly Pictish. A couple northern clans are actually of Pict-Norse descent like my own highland clan- Clan Gunn (comes from Gunnar).

The Norse didn't raid the Picts so much as they simply joined with them. The Picts ultimately didn't have all that much to plunder.

Like at Ft Hood or the Chattanooga recruitment center?

Those were mass shootings... not targeted at the general population. Only the military.

Surely those weren't acts of terrroriam, then. Right.

Same with USS Cole. Military target. Not terrorism?

Beirut barracks bombing couldn't have been terrorism since it targeted a military target. Right?

No reason for the general population to be terrified by these attacks. So, they weren't acts terrorism, right?
