Don't get me wrong, the end result was awesome. But they gave MSU life when they didn't need to.

MSU was leaving the box totally open, so it was more lack of execution in the running game than it was conservatism at that point. The 'Cats sold out to defend the pass, and it worked for a limited period.

Exactly. What many people (especially on eGriz) seem to not understand is that the offense is all about #'s. The QB is going to check to a run play when the numbers in the box warrant it. The fact that that running play doesn't gain significant yardage doesn't mean it's the wrong play.....just poorly executed.
