I never said I hated Montana because I dont, Im just tired of hearing the same old broken record Grizzly fans shoving the big Stadium big fanbase crap in everyone's faces. I went to last years TCU-Utah football game in front of close to 50,000 fans all dressed in black and louder than anything I have ever heard. I have never been to a game in WGS, but I know for a FACT that a 25,000 seat WGS DOES NOT get as loud as a 50,000 seat Rice Eccles Stadium, or a 65,000 seat Lavell Edwards Stadium.
It may be hard to believe but I assumed the same thing and that UM fans were sods. I didn't believe it either, made my first (hopefully last - lol) trip to WA-Griz Stadium this past season.
WA-Griz will shock you when you go, its louder than Utah and BYU's stadiums. I've been to both on a number of occasions at full capacity. Griz may only have 25,000 but the reason why is its completely enclosed which BYU and Utah are not. And believe it or not the fans at WA-Griz are much louder.
It was equivalent to the Aggie Spectrum (Utah State bball arena) except that loud the whole game and outside. I give props to the Griz fans. It was a proud moment to see, I kept saying I can't believe this is Big Sky/FCS football. I'm not saying I loved the fans or they were nice to me, then again we were next to the students.
Every single down we had the ball the entire stadium was deafening. No exaggeration - every play. Our players claimed it didn't affect them but I've been to too many games in the Spectrum to know it does affect the game completely.
At least they will be a little more prepared for the game on Halloween.
So my question for the Griz is was that a normal game or were the fans extra loud given the do-or-die NCAA playoffs?
