I'm with you on this, kalmy. I pointed this out in the original thread about this incident.
The information the officers had was that a man was walking around the park with a gun.
If I had that information, the last thing I would do is drive right up to him and allow him a chance to shoot me before I got out of the car.
I think that because they drove so close to him, it caused split second reactions on both the boy and the cops. This doesn't excuse the boy from creating the situation in the first place though.
If you stay more than 3 feet away from the lion cage, the lion can't reach out and grab you.

Yes, actually. Individual cases, unique circumstances. Garner, illegally selling smokes, shouldn't have died. Every time a black man is killed, society never looks at his actions that contributed to the death.

E. Garner: resisting arrest, selling untaxed cigarettes. Arrested 30 times since 1980. On parole at the time of his death for doing what he as suspected of doing. All that doesn't warrant death however his refusal to obey authorities didn't help him.

M. Brown: Robbed store. Refused police orders, attacked police, ran away and then turned around and started charging the officer.

W. Scott: Pulled over, ran away, tried to take a cops weapon, then continued running.

Maybe if these black men had stopped and accepted the consequences of their actions, they'd be alive today.

Keep in mind, In the past year we have 3 high profile cases of black men being killed by police. In that same time frame, how many black men have been pulled over, approached on the street, etc.. and have lived?

The police are a blunt object

if you dont want to run the inevitable risk of citizens (or police for that matter) being killed over selling untaxed ciggies then dont make it an arrestable offense

Said he'd go out LOOKING for cars with taillights out, headlight out, turn signal broken, broken windshields, etc. He claimed that, at night, 70% of those stopped for one of those mundane reasons had some form of outstanding warrant.

They either opened the door and warned him in one second (that's literally how much time expired before they shot or they warned him from a distance and then drive up and shot him.

I'm not so sure that we should trust anything that cop fucking says. It's certainly not in the video.

What is in the video is the cop dropping his taser next to Walter Scott's body.
