Obama traded Iraq for Syria and a couple of drones to be named later in Pakistan and Yemen. :coffee:

Multiple people? Huh? What debate was being watched? The real clear thing from that debate was that Hillary was and is the only real viable candidate the Dems have. It helps that she's one of the younger ones too as she'll still be less than 70 when and if she's innaguarated (hence why the old and white comment actually does resonate), but I don't understand the comment about the depth of the field when only one person is legit.

Sanders would be a far better President (especially for people like you and I) than anyone on the GOP side that is running.

One good thing about Bernie is he's gotten liberals to finally tacitly admit that the Democratic Party = Socialists

One good thing about Bernie is he's gotten liberals to finally tacitly admit that the Democratic Party = Socialists
Okay fair enough...
So when will Republicans tacitly admit Capitalism has become
"The Socialism for Giant Corporations and Monopolies"

or are we still in denial about that one

that our government props up large corporations (because ostensibly their failure would be more painful than the bailout) isnt socialism

it has a similar effect as socialism though- it dumbs down corporate behavior so that rather than simply maximizing profit while minimizing costs, they also operate with the guarantee of public assistance as a given part of the balance sheet

if the government took Ford's profits to bail out GM, then THAT would be socialism

here endeth the lesson

true ^ were I only talking about the bailouts

:ohno:

Anytime a Federal Government hands out multi-billion dollar NO CONTEST bids
based entirely on who your friends are in the administration
and appoints monopoly run corporate chiefs to oversee the very industry they come from

That's still not socialism, Clit. It's cronyism

I think I'm seeing why Democrats and liberals now openly embrace Socialism whereas in the past they denied it-

In the past they knew what it was

Today, even smart liberals (like you) don't.

Well I for one, DO believe that strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is a basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power must not derive from a mandate from the masses, but from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

It would be cronyism were it a one off scenario
But its a fully mature aspect of our daily government
The free corporate money is written into programs and packages
In exactly the same way the evil socialist social programs are written in

I know we're all supposed to be terrified of "the Socialist in the white house"
The undying Republican meme

However: The tactic that does seem to be working
Is pointing at poor people and screaming look over there, there's the problem
while in plain sight billions of dollars in a hundred different ways are slid across the table

I know you won't go gently into the darkening abyss on this one - because then we're at a standstill

ridiculous claims about ISIS and The Taliban and various mujahideen factions is rampant
claiming Obama created ISIS is about like Claiming Reagan started the Taliban
