The Dukes visit the Ponies - can JMU pull off the upset?

SMU is 1-2. Lost badly to Baylor and TCU. Beat a winless North Texas team by 18.

JMU is 3-0, with wins over Morehead, Lehigh and Albany.

JMU is averaging 51 points a game. SMU gave up 56 points to both Baylor and TCU.

I will be there! SMU is one of my alma maters and I have family history with SMU too.
SMU is beginning to do well now that Chad Morris is there. But it's his first season so he has a weaker team than if he had a roster full of his recruits.

June Jones tanked the roster by not recruiting. He would not even go a few miles down the road to have a relationship with the high school coaches and football players looking for recruits in one of the nation's hotbeds of DFW! He would go golfing in Hawaii and collect $ 2 Million. He would not adjust his scheme to his players. I think most of the roster has players who did not have 1 FBS offer credit to JJ. So it's mostly like an FCS team.

SMU has made improvements in their new up tempo offense each week. Chad Morris is like me, one of those kids who watched in person the Pony Express.
The defense, well, come on defense! They run a 4-2-5 that's said to be more like Oklahoma State's than TCU's.
SMU has never quit in a game this year. They were just about tied with Baylor at the half.
At TCU they got close in the 4th because they kept fighting. TCU has had a lot of injuries and some legal things go on recently.

If you are coming to the game visit the Boulevard and know that there is a clear bag policy before entering the stadium.

Yeah, as y'all can see, SMU is just an FCS level team. June Jones would not recruit so there is a poor level of talent for a team in FBS.
There were other problems too. Even though the SMU defense is not talented enough to play at that level the DC did a bad job. A number of fans want him gone.

Most of us think that hiring Chad Morris is the best and most serious attempt at building a winning team for SMU since what happened in 1987.
