Hornet defense dominated. The dungpilers only managed 133 yards of offense after the 1st quarter. Hornet offense on the other hand took a little bit to get going.

Re: Week 13 Score Thread
The one concern for Sac is that Thomson's passing stats haven't been real good since he returned from injury. He seems to be 100% running-wise, though.SDHornet wrote:Mvemjsunpx wrote:Sac beats Davis 27-17 to claim their first-ever Big Sky title.![]()

Not so much last night, Venus. Thomson threw for an even 300 to EIGHT different receivers and even had a passing TD.Mvemjsunpx wrote:The one concern for Sac is that Thomson's passing stats haven't been real good since he returned from injury. Of course, you don't NEED multiple passing TDs when you get two on the ground yourself....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: Week 13 Score Thread
Saw an interesting historical note when looking at stats for the McNeese at Lamar game at the ESPN "College Football Scores" pages last night. Here is a quote from the "Recap:"
"The Cowboys extended their winning-season streak to 15 straight years, which is the longest in the FCS after Jacksonville State lost."
At first I thought North Dakota State must have a longer streak but some seasons weren't counted because they were D2. But when I looked it up I saw they had a losing season in 2009.

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Re: Week 13 Score Thread
Thomson finished strong down the stretch so I'm not overly concerned. He probably isn't 100% but probably pretty close to it. The bigger concern is that Pierre Williams went down in the 2nd quarter and didn't return, although he did stay suited up on the sideline. Good thing we get a first round bye.Mvemjsunpx wrote:He threw for 300 on 55 attempts. His efficiency rating was 99.1.SuperHornet wrote:

Re: Week 13 Score Thread
I actually expected Thomson to be shaken up after his first TD, where he did a vertical recreation of the Nat Moore helicopter third-down conversion against the Jets at Giants Stadium, where the Jets were inexplicably playing second fiddle to the Giants....SDHornet wrote:Thomson finished strong down the stretch so I'm not overly concerned.
