Oh no, I don't think the team is looking at it that way. Just beating a SoCon team makes the team believe they can compete, an maybe win, against other SoCon teams. And seeing teams like Citadel and Wofford, who have gone into Boone and pulled out wins, just makes us think that while App is a man-for-man better team than CSU, its not over the top so much better that if we play near-perfect and they make a few mistakes that we can't pull a win out also.CID1990 wrote:If your team is looking at this game as a "we beat The Citadel this year, they beat App last year, ergo we have a snowball's chance in Boone" kind of thing, then they're in big trouble. The team CSU beat in the season opener is in no way even remotely like the one that beat ASU last year.bucs90 wrote:
Well....you guys beat them at App last year, by a good margin. And CSU just beat you guys at your house. So.......may be closer than you think. Or are you still sore from that home loss that cost the cadets a night of leave![]()
Sorry man, some Citadel folks have really been sore losers about the CSU game. Had to rub it in a bit!!!
I predict App St 31, CSU 21.
The best thing that has come out of the CSU and Wofford losses is that our staff has realized that one offensive scheme works a lot better than 5. See you guys next time.
You're right about The Citadel. The option is great and all, but you cant flip flop to other schemes mid-game. Gotta commit to it like Wofford has for 20 years.
CSU is now....what....2-5 vs The Citadel? I was there for the 2005 game, when CSU was up 2 scores late and blew it. Don't worry, we still know you guys are a better program than us overall........but I doubt people in Charleston will keep assuming CSU v Citadel is a game not even worth watching (Iike the first meetings in 02, 03 were).
Im curious to see what Higgins does next year with that great QB Dupree graduating.
