We're not blaming you directly, but please, get your people under control. They've sort of been a mess since, oh, the beginning of recorded history.Vidav wrote:![]()
Was it really that close to Russian air space though?93henfan wrote:I don't think it takes rocket science here guys. It's not like the Dutch or the Malaysians are on many peoples' hate lists. The Russians aren't exactly without precedent here. Their command and control in IFF situations is not a model for the world.See KAL 007.

WHY would you continue to route planes over a war zone where the combatants have SAMs and have already shot down other planes recently?

Which will now effectively go out of business - which should have happened several years ago
I'm sure we have a few suspects. I'd be shocked if the USA or some NATO ally hasn't been monitoring the country and suspected groups.93henfan wrote:Because you (Malaysian Airlines) are inept.CID1990 wrote:

This was 35 miles from Russian airspace according to news reports. The people first to the wreckage are pro-Russian Ukrainian guys with AK's.
I guess I'll back down from the "Russians did it" to more of the pro-Russian Ukrainians did it, possibly with lots of help from Russians.
But still not sure why you'd shoot down a Holland to Malaysia international flight. Can't see any wins in that for anyone.

Maybe true, but Lufthansa (multiple daily), Air France, Virgin, etc were also flying over that area.93henfan wrote:Because you (Malaysian Airlines) are inept.CID1990 wrote:

Hey, make yourself useful for once. Do you fly to Asia much? I'm headed to the Phillipines next spring. Which airline should I fly?
