I don't know how you can possibly read this and conclude there is some kind of quid pro quo.

I mean, I agree with Jelly that we need to also see what the whistleblower filed and any other conversations, but there is jack schit here and I don't know what some of the leftists who are chirping about this transcript are seeing.

It sounds like Zelenskyy is trying to butter him up and Trump does mention Biden but there's no real threat at all - even a veiled one (as if Trump is good with subtlety and putting subtext in his words).
From what has been presented, I don't see the quid pro quo either. I do see Trump getting his ass kissed. I see him asking a foreign power to investigate the causes around the firing of that prosecutor (which based off the history will involve Biden). I'm not sure about the ethics, but it sounds weird. Why would Trump care about some Ukrainian prosecutor losing his job? :coffee: :twocents:

Mark it down, the big loser on this will end up being Biden.

Zelensky asks for anti-tank missiles. (Quid)

Trump immediately says he has to "favor" to ask, though. (Quo)

1) find out if the DNC server is in Ukraine. (lol)
2) find out about the Bidens

And, by the way, I'll have my personal attorney check up on this.

It's not explicit, but a quid pro quo also doesn't have to be.

Not answering this garbage...it's time to stop you conservatives from spinning everything.

The whistleblower's complaint, as required to be handed over by law, sure would be nice.
It's a legitimate question. I'm sure there have been quite a few Presidents who have spoken openly, but I've never seen their discussions splashed all over. Maybe there is a reason...like they don't fall under the intelligence whistle blowers.

With that being said, I like to see it as well, just for the drama aspect.

The document makes clear it is not a verbatim transcript of the conversation. Call me crazy, but I'd want the actual conversation. Perhaps those that were taking notes didn't hear something, or something got lost in translation. What we have is the combination of the note takers confirming what they wrote down and what the voice recognition software captured. Maybe it is the best. I read it briefly. What's Rush saying? I'm sure he's got it all figured out.
Ibanez nails it.

Why would you not want to hear from the horses mouth, the conversation? You're going to trust note takers? C'mon Dana, you can't be that partisan or naive. Wouldn't you want the Presidents own words to vindicate him? I would.

Trump should be speaking openly. I suspect this whistle-blower heard the conversation and thought it was improper when really, it's probably the normal course of business for two executives. :twocents: :coffee:

Oh I don't doubt if left to own devices, those that needed to provide a transcript would leave out incriminating evidence. I simply don't think Trump can hide anything from those that want to snoop, as evidenced by this whole thing.

A whistleblower, who didn't hear the conversation, but heard it second hand submits a complaint?

The President's private conversation with another President leaked.

No. It immediately follows it.
We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost. ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes.

The President: I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike...

Skelly, the favor that Trump asked for was not the Biden thing, but for Ukraine to look into the ownership of Crowsdstrike, the company that the DNC went to to investigate the email breach back in 2016. That's not the same thing as Biden at all.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters on Wednesday he didn't feel pressure from President Donald Trump to look into political rival Joe Biden even though a summary of a July phone call between the two leaders showed that Trump discussed the former vice president and his son.

“Nobody pushed me,” Zelensky said while seated next to Trump at the United Nations in New York. “Good phone call. It was normal.”

In a July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, President Donald Trump asked the new leader to assist the United States in its ongoing investigation of foreign interference in the 2016 elections.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but hasn't Trump repeatedly denied foreign interference in the 2016 elections? So...why would he have a foreign government investigate something that he doesn't believe occurred? :suspicious:

Btw, Schiff called the phone call a "classic mafia shakedown". What mafia movies is that guy watching? They must be the most boringest mafia movies on the planet. If that was a script for a movie I'd change channel.

Thx is going to be fun watching the Dems chase their tails. They brought charges without any documentation, the whistleblower is most likely a plant, and identity will surely be leaked. Jelly and others here will resemble fools once again. Nothing burger

It sounds like Zelenskyy is trying to butter him up and Trump does mention Biden but there's no real threat at all - even a veiled one (as if Trump is good with subtlety and putting subtext in his words).
Zelenskyy: "We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes."

Trump: " I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out..."

It's very easy to read that as an effort to establish a quid pro quo. That was Trump's immediate response. You have to be seriously obtuse not the recognize that as going for a quid pro quo.
