I think he is right. I think the majority of the post debate polls favored Biden. It wasn't a slam dunk like Romney's win over Obama however. Either way, I think both candidates accomplished their goals. Biden attacked and Ryan kept his cool. In today's age of spin, both sides will claim victory.89Hen wrote:D1B wrote:Most people said he won.![]()

My buddy had been teaching for 10 years(jr high), then district found out his son who lives w/ his ex was playing high school fb for the rival school so he became O-Line coach for his son's high school team, they moved him to the school in the district that is in the mountains 1/2 hour further from the rest of the schools and made sure he couldn't make it to practice in time so he couldn't coach his son. Another, admin was cheating on his wife w/ the sex ed teacher, she started talking to a different teacher, he was gone the next year, even though he was tenure. Admin said they'd call of the dogs if he just left. Same call of the dogs thing happened to my former classmate, she killed herself 2 months after they got rid of her.
Gil there is no need for us to talk politics we are brothers in Green Bay Packer love. I'm an owner/shareholder, did you buy a share this time around or in 1997?
PS - you're classmate was weak...anyone who offs themself should not be a teacher or a role model. It is actually a good thing she isn't teaching...probably would whine about how helpless people are in the face of adversity. That's not the type of thinking we need in our schools. My wife was offered a learning director job more than once, but she'd rather be in the classroom helping the kids. Some people choose to make less money and actually help others over taking a money grab. Re: Biden/Ryan Debate
As I recall polls of all viewers suggested it was kind of a draw and a CBS poll among voters who said they were undecided suggested undecided voters thought Biden won. But there's a couple of things about that.
One thing is that I didn't hear about a poll regarding the question of whether or not the debate would make one more likely to vote for either ticket. It's possible, for example, that someone could think Biden won because he was more aggressive yet still be turned off by the aggression. And as time goes on I'm seeing things that make me think Biden hurt himself by acting as he reportedly did. A lot of people appear to think he acted like a buffoon.
Me, I didn't see it. And the reason is that I never watch these debates. I think that the fact that they have impact is kind of an indictment of the American voting public. They are not about substance. They are about style. Ronald Reagan says "I paid for this microphone." Lloyd Benston disses Dan Qualye with the "you're no Jack Kennedy" remark. George H.W. Bush looks at his watch. Al Gore walks over and gets to close too George W. Bush.
Now Obama "looks tired" then Biden "laughs and interrupts." And that's what determines who won. It's a waste of time. They shouldn't even have them. And if anybody lets them influence their voting decision they're an idiot.

I got red brick like pavers, I would need to get cooler looking ones to make a paver pit look good. Wind, not really a factor, I have 2 pine trees and a pistachio tree blocking the western wind along w/ the fence. I made paver plant beds for my cousin and I liked the look. I probably didn't give the paver pit too much thought w/ all of the projects going on 1 after the other. Fence, lowering the yard 4 in, 10 chevy/tacoma truckloads of river rock, cement, dg/sand base/field turf/ 1 ton of sand brushed into the top of the turf, paver border around river rocks, leveling paver area put in pavers, boulder border, put in fire pit free from aunt, tore out ugly 3 70s looking s curve patio posts and put 2 4x4 wood posts, opening it up. Went on to the front, killed the grass, tore it out, dug dry creek area, put in stepping stones, within the creek bed, small river rocks for creek bed, boulders on the borders, some desert plants. Went on to the kitchen floor.CAA Flagship wrote:While I like the idea of being able to move the fire pit to different locations to suit the conditions (wind direction, number of people, etc.), I like the idea of a "built-in" pit. Ryan - know-it-all diminutive, pipsqueak caught up in several cults, would kill millions of people if the pope or Dick Cheney told to him to.

Nah...and you should agree with me here, probewongressive one.kalm wrote:
No shit Cluckster. Nothing wrong with choosing to be a stay at home parent if you can afford it. I know a few and society is much better for it. You're kind of jumping the shark here.
The issue isn't whether Fresno St. Bulldozer is a stay at home parent...more power to him if he volunteers to put that much effort into his patio...I mean, kids. Kids deserve to have more of their parent's time and energy.
The issue is that he makes a CHOICE to not work, and yet he wants to take money away (TAX THE RICH...pure genius) from someone else to make things happen. He COULD work (except he seems to have a problem with authority and certainly doesn't seem bright enough to actually make a business for himself), but he doesn't WANT to work.
That's no better than an uneducated street bum laying around saying he deserves some of yore money to make things better.
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

That all depends on the productivity level of those who have the money. You could make a case that the average stay at home parent who not only takes care of the kids, but manages the family's finances, grows a garden, lays a few bricks, cans vegetables, cuts out coupons, etc and who's annual output x savings to the family would be equivalent to a six figure salary has a greater benefit to the real economy than a bankster making 10's of millions by pushing money around.Cluck U wrote:Nah...and you should agree with me here, probewongressive one.kalm wrote:

Re: Biden/Ryan Debate
You keep thinking that I should or need to go into business. I don't, we have plenty on money, we don't abuse the system. I designed my avatar, and make those helmets for the guys in my fantasy football league, if I wanted I could charge people for me to make them a helmet, just as Willie could charge to make our sigs. We need taxes to pay for teachers, cops, fire department, roads. You don't waive a magic wand and everything is paid for. I don't have a problem w/ my admins, I can go back as a full time sub whenever I want, I stay on the pay roll by giving the exit exams while I'm a stay at home dad. Funny that you think I'm not "bright" enough to "make," you mean create a business, yet you struggle to put a sentence together. Warren Buffet must not be bright either, since he's a successful business man who thinks he should pay more taxes, and be taxed at a higher rate than his secretary, which he currently doesn't.Cluck U wrote:Nah...and you should agree with me here, probewongressive one.kalm wrote:

News flash, teachers get summers off, so my wife watches the kids while I do projects. If a project needs to get done during the school year, I do it on a weekend. Way to think that one through, genius.
